  3. Any word when 3CDC is going to start work on 15th and Race? Feels like it's been delayed forever...
  4. Apparently there was a Findley Market community meeting last night. Lots of interesting tidbits, but most interesting is that there is on going negotiations to bring 2 "brag worthy" fine dining restaurants located in the globe building by Findley Market.

  6. New retail coming to OTR http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/10/02/exclusive-clifton-shop-owner-to-tackle-new-project.html By years end 4 new retail businesses should be up and running on Vine/Republic.
  7. It's confirmed to be in Norwood from I would understand. Which is fine. 5 minute drive to the urban core anyway.
  8. It amazes me how much historic stock in general Cincinnati has. Not just including OTR, but other neighborhoods as well like Mount Adams, OTR, Pendelton, West End, etc. Surely there must not be many places like that in America that have retained so many historic structures and neighborhoods in major downtown city urban cores
  9. Another Campaign has been set up similar to GE's Global Operation Center, where there is outcry to bring CDK to the Banks, and you have the opportunity to message CDK and tell them why they should locate downtown, and at The Banks. https://www.facebook.com/BringGEtotheBanks?fref=ts If it's true they are still deciding on where to locate, why not give them a public opinion, "nudge". The banks has a lot reserved for a business this sized, and the street car line is literally at there doorsteps. You would have many employee benefits such as nearby restaurants/cafes/hotels/as well as the largest parking garage in North America right beneath them, so I can't exactly see why the suburbs should be an immediate choice. Especially this is a tech forward company, who are probably trying to attract millennials.

  12. There is a Spec Tower that needs filling. Lets hope.
  13. Is it really that hard to find and attract a business to locate by the banks?
  14. What's the latest on the Spec Tower? I heard if there's no lease agreement by this year then the tower will be greatly reduced in size and scope? Or something of that sorts, not sure...That would be a shame. You would think GE locating down by the Banks, along with the AC hotel, and other developments would make local Cincinnati businesses more excited to jump on board. Also, when will we hear an announcement on who the 2nd restaurant will be next to the lot by Yard House? I heard on here in Summer it was going to be announced soon, but still nothing for now... Finally, I really hope something develops with the retail/dining scene. Can't tell you how many times I was like, "Going to banks would be cool" with my friends, but there wasn't anything really to do there. None of us really like to drink, and don't exactly have that much money to splurge on food. A few good lunch spots/cafe's/starbucks/panera type places would do really good. I typically hate chains, but I feel certain chains such as those would be really welcomed down there. For now, it's kind of dead both retail wise, and dinning wise, and I don't get why.
  15. So I just heard about this development so I'm not sure if it's new or old..."Rothenberg Row", is a 21 condo development project in OTR that will feature luxury condo's ranging from 400-600K starting range. But apparently there's controversy because it will get rid of basketball courts...and people are protesting because of that....Surely this is a joke right? http://www.soapboxmedia.com/forgood/092215-OTR-community-park-keep-our-courts.aspx
  16. Clothing store from Victor's Athletics will be opening up a retail brick and mortar men clothing retail location on Republic Street this coming November: Retail in general is going strong from OTR. This is what's still in the pipe line Retail: -Candle Lab (Early October?) [Vine] -Corporate (Early October?) [Vine] -Victors Athletics (November) [Republic]
  17. Cincinnati has the current fastest growing Economy in all of the Midwest, and 20th in all the Nation. The times are a changin' http://www.cincinnati.com/story/money/2015/09/23/cincinnati-economy-fastest-growing-midwest/72689970/
  18. EXCLUSIVE: Grandin Properties to raise millions for OTR projects: http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/09/23/exclusive-grandin-properties-to-raise-millions-for.html
  19. I see people hanging out at the streetcar shelter when it's raining, because they are covered unlike most bus stops. I actually think most of the loitering at stops will go away once the system is in use. I'm not sure the streetcar stops will get any better once the system is running. More and more I've seen people using loud boom boxes, sleeping, drinking, smoking crack, selling loose cigarettes and panhandling in the bus shelters downtown and in OTR. Now I'm increasingly seeing the same behavior in the streetcar shelters. If we really want to make mass transit a priority in the city there really should be some efforts to crack down on this behavior. I'm sure having the streetcar active, and have actual people wait at these shelters who are young professionals/business folk will stop at least a little bit of this activity.
  20. Times always go slower, when you sit down, and watch the flowers grow. I used to be obsessed with development, but it moves to slowly if you follow it day by day. That's why I recommend filling your time with other hobbies. It will make announcements and new developments seem like they come about quicker.
  21. Man, that's a great perspective. Makes you realize that if the Macys, Fifth Third Bank, and P and G towers were all taller you'd have a baby Chicago on your hands. Never realized how dense Cincinnati is with corporate towers..just there all not that tall and aren't visibile/hidden from the skyline.
  22. That map needs a legend. Can't tell what represents a tree, and what represents the new street lamps.
  23. Yup that's basically it. Riding a Bus is just weird. It's some weird stigma, don't ask me where it comes from, that makes riding the bus feel weird. Maybe it reminds me of being in grade school again, I don't know. But I know plenty of people, who don't even consider a Bus as public transportation. Only subways, and street cars. Again, it's just a perception I notice. Alot of people I know just feel plain outright feel uncomfortable riding a bus.
  24. Will be there monthly/year around passes for residents of downtown?
