Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Really interesting that pleasant street north of liberty is experiencing all this development. There's literally been infill project after infill project announced in the span of a few months. It's interesting because north of Liberty is still infested with crime yet I'm sure the developers are seeing an emerging market appear. It's quite interesting to say the least especially when other side streets like republic, Dunlap, etc. are not seeing the same level of activity.

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
Was there a date mentioned at all by Amazon in regards to when they will announce the location of hq2?
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
If cranely manages to get Amazon hq here I will forgive him for everything. An Amazon hq here in the urban core can literally transform our city at a pace never seen before. Hotels, new convention centers, possible new public transport options, new residential towers, etc Again, pie in the sky, but Cincinnati would literally have the potential of Toronto growth circa early 70s.

MORE infill like that please!

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
THE sycamore lots are also quite large and could House quite large office buildings but I don't know how I feel about ruining the feet of otr with implementing 40 story office buildings...

Cincinnati: West End: Development and News
Well it's not exactly like the west end is full of parking garages for these employees to safely park in. If the lot is truly that big is it possible for messer to absorb the parking spaces towards further expansion of the hq?

Cincinnati: Liberty Street Road Diet
How do we get rid of cross roads health on vine, the goodwill I believe on east 12th with that large parking lot. They obviously are in the way of larger developments, but how do you do this without cries against gentrification or the continued displacement of putting all the social services in the west end.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
That's a pretty sizable lot to. I'm just curious if 3cdc is waiting for the road diet to occur first or not before developing plans for that lot.

Pendelton is mainly tall brick tenement row houses. Far from attractive but captures a perfect old school feeling. Beauty is definitely a subjective term.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I think what is commonly overlooked is that liberty and Milton streets are quite long streets and for whatever reason are almost perfectly intact compared to say boal and ringgold. I'm not sure why that is. I remember reading that boal and ringgold are part of the national historic district but not part of the local historic district hence the demolition that occurred. Hence they reason why the lower basin of prospect hill is protected.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
Are the streets in otr not compatible for this? I feel like main is a really centralized street that could be suitable for such a pedestrian entertainment street. Also the street car could funnel pedestrians in and out.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
Can we please get a European style pedestrian entertainment corridor that have no cars and only pedestrians and benches and cafes. Why American cities don't have more of these is beyond me.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I wasn't really referring to Boal or Ringold st. I was more referring to the beauty in the streets of Liberty Hill, Corporation Alley, and Milton Street. There are some beautiful row houses there as well as narrow streets that I love. Here's an example pic:

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Eh are we talking about the same area? Yes there is some modern homes but the infill is no worse than otr. Still a lot of beautiful old row homes on those streets. And no 50 business buildings so I do t know what you are referring to...

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
If we're counting pendelton as otr though than prospect hill is by far the most gorgeous neighborhood that surrounds otr. The views and those narrow streets!
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Are you kidding? The narrow streets alone are to die for. So European like. Plus most of the buildings are domainted by non colored brick row houses, very similar to bostons north end in some respects. Also St. Paul's church and its small church plaza also just gives me beautiful European vibes. Again to say pendelton looks anything like the rest of otr is insane. It definitely has its own unique flavor and atmosphere that sets it apart from the rest of otr.

Cincinnati: Queensgate: Hudepohl Redevelopment
No desire to start a go fund me/kickstarter? I imagine it would cost quite a bit but I know quite a few people who would donate to the cause, me included. Again assuming there is somehow any potential of reusing the bricks to rebuild the stack.
-
Cincinnati: Queensgate: Hudepohl Redevelopment
So is it still unknown what the process of demolition will be? If allowed, is rebuilding the stack even something that would be considered?
-
Cincinnati: Queensgate: Hudepohl Redevelopment
I'm not sure to be quite honest. Here's the article in early august about there plans to reassemble the smoke stack http://www.fox19.com/story/36035085/group-wants-to-save-iconic-hudepohl-smokestack-despite-demolition-plan I imagine it will be In otr. It doesn't make sense anywhere else.

Cincinnati: Queensgate: Hudepohl Redevelopment
Well the brewery heritage district plans to rebuild it in otr. They will collect the bricks once it's demolished.

Would make sense to land within otr considering the presence of all the current theaters like ensemble theater, and music hall and of course the new cincy shakes theater on elm. Only question is where they could land this within in otr that would make sense? A part of me wonders if that empty lot in between memorial hall and music hall could fit?

How would this be related to anything FCC wise?

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I was in otr on Saturday for the taste of otr and couldn't help but noticed how touristy vine st felt. A lot of peddle wagons, as well as tour groups in the area, not to mention many people stopping me asking for directions to such and such restaurant. No sure if this has anything to do with the 36 hour nyt article or not, but regardless I really liked the vibe.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I screenshot this from IG. What was this elm street infill project supposed to be again? I think it was mentioned before but it slipped my mind. It's on the right side of elm. 1422 or 1423elm. It's a double lot and ground has been broken on one of the lots. On otr guide instagram you can see a picture of the ground breaking but I don't remember the nature of the project.
