Emboldened by industrial demand, Fogg sets two-building plan for Euclid and Stow Stan Bullard - Crain's Cleveland Business - Feb. 7, 2021 "And in Stow, a 247,000-square-foot structure is planned for Seasons Business Park. That building will open a second phase of the park on the southwest side of the Seasons Road interchange with State Route 8. It will require building a 1/3-mile street with utilities to convert the greenfield from raw land to a ready-to-build industrial park with sites available for new structures. ... The second phase of Seasons Business Park is in development because the first phase, on the opposite side of Seasons Road, is fully developed with four buildings. It has about 600,000 square feet of rentable space, and just 40,000 square feet is left available, Fogg said."

Moodys does not produce regional enclosed mall statistics, but estimates vacancy in the hard-hit property type climbed to 10.5% at the end of 2020 from 9.7% at the end of 2019. Online realty data provider CoStar estimates more than 1 million square feet, a record, of retail space was vacated in the region last year."

Akron's Martin House hotel conversion on hold for now Dan Shingler - Feb. 7, 2021 "The planned $21 million hotel conversion of the Martin Center on the campus of the University of Akron lost its financing last year when its senior lender pulled out of the deal, and the project has yet to find a new lender willing to replace it, said Tom Chema, chairman of Cleveland's Gateway Group. ... The project was supposed to be completed at the end of 2020 and expected to start holding events and renting rooms early this year. But now the developers are hoping just to start construction this year, hopefully in the spring."

Feb. 4, 2021 "It's muddy and mucky now in the dead and gray of winter, but the new Quarry Trails Metro Park and nearby housing development are taking shape. ... Metro Parks has already spent or has set aside a total of $4.8 million on park improvements, Moloney said, although he said he didn't know what the total cost will ultimately reach once the park is developed. The park will be the 20th in the Metro Parks system, and the second within the Interstate 270 outerbelt."

Crocker Park will be home to new indoor kids’ adventure park Eric Heisig - Feb. 1, 2021 "Crocker Park’s owners leased more than 47,000 square feet of space to a Texas-based kids’ indoor adventure park operator for a location scheduled to open in December. Urban Air Adventure Park will be located underneath American Greetings’ headquarters on One American Boulevard at the southern end of the 120-acre outdoor Westlake shopping and dining center." I took a few pictures over the holidays when I visited Crocker for the first time in a while. The amount of vacancies in Phase 3 / around AG were a little surprising, but they're filling in.   10. The equipment on the Gravity 2.0 site mentioned a couple of weeks ago has (so far) just been used for additional sewer/utility links to the site. State has been torn up east of Mc Dowel (Thur. 1-21-21) The new utility connections are now making there way down State and onto the site (Wed. 1-27-21)

Budish’s chief of staff, Bill Mason, issued a statement Tuesday that said there were a total of 28 sites that consultants ultimately presented for consideration to the committee. ...the consultant’s list included the two in East Cleveland - the former Arco dump and another site that would require uprooting about 70 homeowners."

The operation will be 30,000 square feet and provide flexible office space, a podcast studio and other amenities.
