  1. It's the old Guide to Kulchar building. They are turning it into either a coworking space or an incubator...I can't remember which. They had it open a little during Dyngus Day. They were gutting the place.
  2. This street name guide: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~officer/Clev1906Streets.html Says that Plum St is now 13th st. That is the little street right to the west of Sokolowskis and right by the new towpath trail that will connect around Tremont over to abbey. So maybe it's something to do with that?
  3. I've noticed some work going on at the old Anthony's Hardware on Bridge and 47th. Now there is a building permit in the window. Anyone know what the plan is?
  4. I just saw a sign across the street from the Wagner awning building announcing a phase 2. I didn't get a good look but it looked like another apartment building.
  5. Went to a soft opening for GroundSwell, a new yoga studio owned by Harness Cycle. It's in the same building as Cleveland Motorcycles on 65th and Herman. They have build a really cool rooftop deck and are working on a hot yoga studio on the 2nd floor of the building. They are on the Cleveland Hustles show. Does anyone know what the building at 58th and Herman is being demolished for? It was for sale/lease for a while.
  6. The furniture store at 44th and Lorain has been cleared out. Does anyone know if there are plans for the space or if it's just a lease ending like the furniture store on 25th? Excited to see what ends up in these big spaces. In other solo news, The Plum semi opened today! Also, one of the store fronts west of the plum applied for a liquor license. Not sure what their plans are.
  7. Does anyone have any information about a building being renovated on Franklin near w58th? It's a beautiful brick commercial building that just had new front windows put in and new lighting on what looks like a front patio. It looks like it would be a restaurant or bar.
  8. I saw some workers drilling in the parking lot of the former gas station at 45th and Detroit. Not sure if it was soil samples or what.
  9. With all the momentum on Scranton, does anyone know if Ferry Cap and Set Screw still uses their building under the abbey bridge? It looks empty, but I can't tell. Every time I pass it I think it would make an amazing conversion, ala Tremont Place Lofts.
  10. There are lots of places downtown that aren't expensive or trendy- for sports bars alone there are two Winking Lizards, City Tap, Huron Point, 2 Panini's, Harry Buffalo, The Clevelander, a BW3 on the way, and probably a couple I'm not even bothering to remember. Pacer's was just trashy and has lousy food/beer selection. I don't see how it added any "character". Where's the BW3 opening?
  11. That list is missing Fatheads, Thirsty Dog and Hoppin Frog, which I would guess are all in the top 5 in production
  12. Does anyone know if the furniture store at 25th and Chatham is indeed closing, and if so what the plan is for that space?
  13. There's also a Mellow Mushroom opening in rocky River right next to Sweet Melissa's. Old Ingersols location.
  14. But it's not a monopoly. The state gov changed that after the fact by allowing racinos. I do think phase 2 will happen, but I think it will be a much more calculated project.
  15. Yes, that's the building and site. Menlo uses all of st Mel's and it is very tight. We are at about 350 students now. The goal is to grow to 600 in the new building.
