Cincinnati: Jungle Jim's
Man, I miss Jungle Jim's. When I was a student at Miami, we used to drive out there all the time. If you've never been, it is worth going to.

Cleveland: Kingsbury Run
Not only that, but the graphic novel is being made into a movie with David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club) directing. Here is a little blurb about it. http://movies.about.com/od/moviesinproduction/a/torso011306.htm

East or West Side of Cleveland
No way, this is something I believe strongly in. If you are south of 480, you are not east or west side, you are south side (That includes you Solon, so don't even argue). I live in Lakewood, so obviously I love the west side, but I like alot about the east side too. They both have their pros and cons. The one thing I don't like about the east side is that the streets seem more confusing. The west side laid out a little more logically in an east-west, north south grid. The east side has crazy circles and hills and I haven't quite figured it all out. One thing I have noticed is that it seems like its mostly east siders who have this "I hate the west side, i will never move there, go there, talk to people who live there" mentality. I don't know anyone from the west side that has that attitude, but I definitely have east side friends who think they will catch a disease if they cross the river. So I guess to me, the east siders seem more stuck up about this whole thing.

Cleveland Metroparks: The Emerald Necklace
I graduated from Highland in '98, so we probably don't know eachother. But my sister graduated in '90 so you might know her (and her husband).

Cleveland Metroparks: The Emerald Necklace
I grew up in Hinckley, so that's probably my favorite park, for sentimental reasons. It does have a very nice walking/running path around the lake and probably the best sledding hill in NEOH. I now live in Lakewood, and I have to say I agree with KJP that the Rocky River reservation is the best. It is just so cool being down there by the river and looking up and seeing the bridges and the houses perched in the cliffs.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Jimmy John' is way above Subway. Their bread is so yummy. Plus, the ones on college campuses (I went to Miami) are open until like 3 am. I wonder if the downtown one will keep latenight hours?

Cleveland's lakefront plan: How the big projects are progressing
From what I could tell, if would go kind back on Sloan. He definitely said it would be built into the cliffs.

Cleveland's lakefront plan: How the big projects are progressing
This is good news. I would rather see it knocked down then sit vacant for another 5 years. Hopefully Ms. Scott is working on something. Longtime lurker, 1st time poster. Love reading these boards and all the info you guys find/provide. Thanks alot. I was talking to my cousin at a recent family xmas party. He is a civil engineer and he owns his own small firm. He told me he was recently called in to look at the old HoJo to see if it was structurely sound for converting to condos. I can't remember what developer he said was looking at it (one too many xmas ales, I guess), but he seemed to think it was a go (and that the building is in good shape). We talked about some of the other project that he has been working on. The only other one that was of any interest was a pretty large condo/townhouse development in Lakewood. He said it would be around 200 units on the western end, built into the cliffs overlooking the river...near the McDonald investment building and that huge pink building.

Oxford: Stewart Square Mixed-use Development
Those renderings/"photographs" could have been taken from from the front porch of the house I lived in my senior year. If there is a store there that sells beer...or, better yet, a bar...I will be severely jealous of the students that now live in that house.
