Looks like they are about done with that core, unless it goes past the top of level 36.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
I’m usually the last person to comment on a project’s aesthetics, but this is so bad. It’s reminiscent of a 1980’s Comfort Inn.- Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
If it’s that attractive of a site, why did IKEA pass it up, not to mention myriad other possible uses? A jail is a necessary function. At least this is about as centrally located in the county as can be. And with the conditions at the current jail reportedly abhorrent if not inhumane, more years of dithering on it are in no one’s interest.- Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
Per KJP’s article they occupy all of floors 31 33 and 34, plus parts of floors 32 and 6. So I rounded up to 6. And regardless of the space available in the rest of the building, a major premise of the article is that it lacks the panache they seek.- Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
LOL, 75-80 stories? Nobody, especially a publicly traded company, is going to put capital into a vast amount of speculative office space when there’s no office market to speak of to provide that rental income. 75-80 stories is fantasy talk.- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Like the rest of Tower City, it’s long overdue for some type of upgrade or refresh. I used it this past weekend to go to the Greta Van Fleet concert, and it looks frozen in time from the 90’s, dated and dingy. A refreshed passageway routed through any new development there would be essential for synergies between Bedrock’s properties on both sides of Ontario.- Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
But realistically, how big of a building would they need? So they currently occupy roughly 6 floors of 200PS. Considering the growth, acquisitions both completed and possibly USS, my back of the napkin math puts them at around 300k - 400k square feet. Not exactly anything on the scale of SHW (36 floors - 1 million square feet). I guess maybe they could be an anchor tenant in a trophy class tower bigger than their own needs, but the office market being what it is, it’s hard to see much demand for spec office space anytime soon.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters

It seemed vibrant and active when I was there today. Brassica is always busy. The food hall was hopping. Saw 2 ladies in the salon getting their hair colored. I didn’t go into many stores, but they don’t seem to have much retail turnover, so they must be doing OK.- Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
From today. You can see lots of glass starting to be installed on the lower floors from these shots. In the renderings, I thought the glass was mirrored. IMO this is so much better, and along with the dark grey trim, going to look really good.- Ohio: General Business & Economic News
Congratulations. I’m betting you’re the first person to use the terms pied a terre and Orville in the same sentence.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
“Waste” is not something these people think about. They want what they want, and they’re used to getting it. And what they want mostly is more revenue (and profit) generating opportunities.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Neither of the suburban sites mentioned in the article comes without problems. So the city of Cleveland owns the east side site in Highland Hills. Nothing requires them to sell it for a stadium. As for the Brook Park site, how would that city be in any better position than Cleveland to contribute financially to a stadium? Unless the Haslams just move there out of spite but end up having to pay for it themselves. Sure, there will be a state contribution under most any scenario. But large, freeway adjacent suburban tracts are hard to come by around here Just ask IKEA.- Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
I can’t remember ever seeing scaffolding like that, at least on a project around here.- Best Ohio Suburban/Exurban/Rural Downtowns
I would lump Massillon in with the has potential but needs a little TLC group.- Best Ohio Suburban/Exurban/Rural Downtowns
I'll throw Kent into the mix since it has improved so much in the last 10 years or so.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Any news on the retail / restaurant tenants yet?- Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Get your multi-crane skyline photos while you can. Who knows when we’ll see that again.- Cleveland: Random Development and News
For those of us who are uninformed, can you explain why?- Cleveland: Downtown: 55 Public Square Restoration
Welp… Time to move to completed projects thread.- Cleveland: Downtown: Ten60 Bolivar Apartments
I really wish they’d reconsider that name. Every time I see that mashup of letters and numbers I want to clench my teeth. What’s wrong with TenSixty? Or 1060?- Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Neither, they angle OUT.- Kent / Kent State University: Development and News
It's crazy how long this has been under construction. I wonder how their financing works. It can't be producing any income yet to cover the carrying costs. I can only imagine they have some patient and deep pocketed equity investors.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I’ll hazard a guess that the concrete is required due to the building’s height of ~7-ish stories. Lots of the other new builds around town being 4 or 5 floors of wood frame construction on top of a 1 story concrete base, seemingly the most cost effective method for lower rise buildings. But your point overall is well taken. - Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
