  1. Wouldn’t we normally have seen some renderings by the time plans are presented to the city for review and approval? I’m just wondering how city hall is a bottleneck on Intro phase 2 if nothing has been formally presented.
  2. Clearly it thinks we're getting rid of First Energy Stadium, too.
  3. Thanks @Mendo and @GISguy for the images. They really drive home just how massive this building is. It’s going to be a gargantuan effort to pull this project off. I hope they are successful.
  4. The creativity displayed here when we get one of these incoming bomb notices is something to behold!
  5. Looks like starting with the fifth floor, each vertical column is 3 stories high. I've never seen that before. Going up 3 stories at a time from here on up, I guess.
  6. Looking good. Almost giving off some brutalist vibes, I think.
  7. Sorry, my attempt at humor fell flat... I was referring to the shot of the City Club crane in the foreground of the completed SHW tower.
  8. Great rendering... But DAMN they are taking forever to finish City Club!
  9. Great pics, @clandman1123. I've been surprised at the lack of progress photos posted here for this project. Glad to see the progress and big impact on the neighborhood!
  10. I would be surprised if it is, based on others I’ve seen. For example, the one at Oakbrook Center in Chicago is just out in the parking lot amidst a sea of cars.
  11. And, as speculated here earlier, the crane now appears to be outside the tower starting on the roof of the 3rd floor.
  12. This is really starting to move fast! Between the tower, garage, and pavilion, that site is going to be a beehive of activity over the spring and summer months.
  13. Isn’t that kind of the point with a mixed-use project? Just because there are multiple uses being planned to make renovating such a vast amount of space economically possible, that doesn’t mean the project doesn’t know what it wants to be. This is one of the largest buildings downtown. They couldn’t possibly find a single use for the whole thing. Based on the number of apartment units in some of the other recent conversions, if this has 864 apartments, it seems like that would eat up the biggest share of the space. As for who’s financing it, I don’t remember reading here where any other recent development identified the details of their capital stack. Don’t they all typically keep that close to the vest until the financing closes?
  14. Judge orders sheriff’s sale for Franklin Avenue tower after unpaid construction bills From The Portager WENDY DIALESANDRO·JANUARY 16, 2023 A judge has ordered a sheriff’s sale for the tower under construction at the corner of Franklin and Erie streets in Kent after a dispute between the owner and a crane rental firm that claims over $90,000 in unpaid bills. Sounds like a whole lotta drama with this seemingly never-ending project...
  15. I knew Cleveland Live! was too good to be true.
  16. Bedrock’s statement doesn’t give me the warm fuzzies about anything happening there anytime soon. In fact, I’d say a buyer with pockets as deep as theirs would have even less urgency to monetize. They can afford to buy and hold until conditions are perfect for them.
  17. Crain’s reports that Bedrock has purchased the Nucleus site. Almost makes me want to subscribe!
  18. This might be the last rain that ground will ever see.
  19. I was thinking the floor plates were huge, until I looked at a couple renderings. On the side closest to and facing W. 6th, the first few floors are bigger than the floor plates starting 4 or 5 floors up. So the footprint you're seeing won't be that "thicc" all the way to the top of the tower.
  20. I can't access the article, but I wonder what impact this might have on the potential future development on the site.
  21. Just couldn't let Chicago have a bean monopoly...
  22. Except if you look at that birds-eye wide shot, it is from before the Beacon was there!
  23. Incoming bomb IN the Westinghouse thread??? Oh, the possibilities... Amazon HQ3? Progressive HQ2? WeWork? Ikea? Eataly? Just kidding about all this, of course!
  24. That Rhodes Tower image is giving off major NuCleUs vibes.
  25. Anyone know what's coming at Crocker Park in the space next to Hot Chicken Takeover? As far as I know, that spot hasn't been used yet, and I noticed they bumped out a temporary construction facade.
