Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
From the rendering it looks like it is all before Scioto St, so I don't think so.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
I didn't see this view the first time I looked at the CBC article.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
So that's about the same number as The Reserve across the street for a height comparison.

Do we know how many on the HCB are Cranley's people? How many votes does it take to stop a demolition?

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
joshknut replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI've walked by Yum Yum so many times and I think I've seen it open twice. It does not instill confidence in me that my food will be fresh. So how was it? Yes Orient on Main is a "no frills" good, which is sometimes the best kind of good. When I am there, I feel like I'm in their house and they are making me dinner.

Is this a done deal or still speculative?

^They really need this around Banks/Main St. People are always in the streetcar only lanes.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I'm using Igby's for a pre-wedding cocktail event. So, I sent an email saying how happy I am that they are supporting the streetcar and that I'll be using them in the future.

Cincinnati: Emery Theater Development and News
Some more details. Requiem is out http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2016/03/24/requiem-project-out-after-emery-theatre-settlement.html I just hope a part of the agreement was that either UC will renovate or that they will sell to someone who will renovate. I wouldn't see Requiem just backing out for $200,000 and not have a guarantee.

Good. I knew this was the case for the Dennison and hoped that they were wrong about this other project.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Cranley will crancel the streetcar every chance he gets. This is a setback, but one that we can work around through speaking with the organizations that run these events. Does anyone know who voted which way and why did Simpson abstain?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Blonde (Eighth & Main)
I read somewhere that it is initially going to be razed and turned into a parking lot. No official plans have been given to the city at all. Basically, they are going to turn it into a parking lot and if "economically feasible", build condos at some point in the future. Has anyone else heard this?

Things like the marathon would interfere much less than Oktoberfest or Taste. Shutting down service for a few hours is much different than shutting off service for 3 days.
-
Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
What do people know about this proposed ordinance? I don't think public transportation should be stopped (for example Oktoberfest would halt operations from Friday-Sunday). Why can't Oktoberfest or the Taste of Cincinnati take place around the Banks or Smale Riverfront Park? http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/cincinnati/proposed-law-would-mean-cincinnati-streetcar-wont-disrupt-oktoberfest-other-heritage-events

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
I wish they would hurry up and tear the thing down already. I heard from someone who is directly involved with this project at City Hall say back in December "oh that's going down in February"....that didn't happen. Anyone else hear anything else about possible demolition start dates?

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Santa Ono's (and thus University's) endorsement of the streetcar is huge. It means they will be putting pressure on City Council for the expansion. When one of the city's largest employers says they need it, I hope Cranley will listen (but probably not). I really didn't expect this from Ono until after operations had started.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
The owners must be very short sighted. They have a building that could be turned into a hotel, offices, apartments, etc right on the streetcar line. This could make them a lot of money in the long run with an initial investment up front. There needs to be a charter amendment not allowing the destruction of our historic buildings for the purposes of a parking lot. A parking lot is NOT development. Unfortunately, parking lots make a lot of money in the short term with very little initial investment and up keep.

This cannot happen. What can we do now to make a fuss before they make their push?
