Hence, the extra high ceiling…

Maybe they’ll use some of that to improve the design a little..

No, look at the graphic closely - the tip top is 616’

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Seeing that bit of Lumen garage in @GISguy’s pic reminded me of that “wicked” banner from the Lumen’s renderings - have they been projecting show banners onto the garage?

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
Totally in agreement - it may not be outstanding architecture but, as others have commented before, not everything is going to be. This is still going to make a big and very positive difference on the riverfront on a large parcel. Love the balconies, too. Hey, it’s new residential on the riverfront - absolutely a big step in the right direction.

They grow up so fast these days. But we love watching. This project is really going to make that south side of Euclid look more grown up.

Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
@KJPin your December update article on Circle Square, I believe you said something about a 10-15 story hotel being next there for construction- possibly in 2024. Just wondering if there’s information yet on what hotel line it will be- the size of the hotel and whether any design renderings are expected soon. And, if not, if you’ve got a sense of what the timeline might be for them to release any of that information.

Yea, I really think it can and will be more of a design thing than a programming change where suddenly you’ve got ground floor retail on floor one facing the Main Street corridors. Who thinks of a hospital as a place for shopping? But a gift shop is a natural - or a cafe that can change the curb appeal dynamic and be very functional for workers and visitors. And the building design itself could improve to be less - um - institutional.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I’m so glad they added lighting to the top of the building - that should be really cool. (Rendering from NEOtrans article)

Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
Hey, so we get a couple dozen of us to go in on a rental - it costs each a couple hundred a month and gives everybody an opportunity to sign up for their own rental maybe two weeks a year - with some open meet-up weekends/nights for playing pinochle or whatever….I’m sure @MayDaycould manage the calendar - better than Marie’s Lounge!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
That’s the definition of transformative.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Imagine how so many more people would be impressed by that inland sea- like they were at the NFL draft - if downtown was connected right to its shore - with no stadium or ( dare I say it) airport to block full access…,
-
Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
I actually think the whole building is very sexy. And I’’m loving those shots with downtown in the background- reminds you that these two centers are really very close to each other. Hope to see the growth of UC as a second downtown continue!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
So it’s small ball vs. Field of Dreams, eh? Maybe both are somewhat apropos. I like the idea of preparing opportunities for a future that’s still unwritten. Who would’ve believed 30 (or maybe even 20 years ago) that in 2023 downtown Cleveland would be one of the hot residential markets in the Midwest?
-
Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Any chance Cleveland could get some “Build Back America” money from Joe to transform the shore way into an Avenue? (or whatever version of a redo they agree on - land bridge, etc)

Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings
I feel bad throwing out yet another job idea at @Geowizical(or @dave2017etc) but not so bad that I won’t try it - this new pic from @MayDayin the SW thread would be great to show how the skyline would be affected by those two new 500’ residential towers we’re gonna get on the riverfront. 😉 And the Bedrock Nucleus Tower. And, obviously, SW. Anyway- for your consideration and a huge thank you for all the incredible renderings…

Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
And the clock tower at West side market is 137’ high - Bridgeworks will rise 25’ above that.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
Agreed! Exciting and congrats Cleveland! This project will really add so much to the gateway to Ohio City and appropriately extend the urban feel and skyline from downtown. But poor @KJP…

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I’d like to see the stadium on the East side of downtown even though the number of events per year are limited -but on Big game days it really brings national attention to a city in a very commercial way. But this recent article centered on a similar conversation going on in Nashville. definitely supports those that say the economic impact of a domed stadium is pretty limited. https://www.thecentersquare.com/tennessee/estimates-of-non-nfl-events-such-as-concerts-at-proposed-tennessee-titans-stadium-likely-inflated/article_1377de5c-70e9-11ed-95a9-8fbeb8260197.amp.html

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
If there are events happening throughout the year in a new stadium, it would bring jobs and collateral economic benefits to various downtown businesses. I didn’t say to throw money at the Haslams but I am excited about what the city could look like both on the east side of downtown and on the lakefront if this domino actually falls - We can argue about the economics when we we know specifics. Lers have some vision here and think about the possibilities that a new stadium could create. If I were the city of Cleveland and/or the Haslams, trying to negotiate a future Super Bowl in Cleveland would be on the table.
-
Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I think it’s great news. It’s the worst kept secret in the world that the Haslams want a new stadium - the timetable just got accelerated. This is their “move”, probably in their best hopes to align with a Super Bowl contender with the career of Deshaun Watson as the lynch pin. IMO, the area @KJP referenced in his article - between East 13th and East 17th is the perfect choice for the future of the city. 1) Energize and connect to downtown 2) supercharge development in that district on the edge of downtown 3) Open the lakefront and 20 new acres for development, lifestyle and possible new attractions And to those that dismiss the Browns as unnecessary to the future of the city - it’s a selfish perspective, to my thinking. Economics are what they are in 2023. But football is The American pastime and I want the new and next generations of Clevelanders to have a hometown team. there were once some great times being a Browns fan and that excitement can return - fans here have been so loyal and deserve a team in a competitive facility. . Granted, The team has been abysmal for years - but a competitive team might be finally at hand - I hope. It’s time to join the 21st century and make this a year round facility that hosts many events - not 10 or 11 games. Think of what this town could be like in a decade with a modern stadium with easy access to downtown businesses - and a beautiful lakefront open for developing.

Cleveland: Downtown: Ten60 Bolivar Apartments
I like the color contrast and the contemporary vibe this building will contribute on the block. I’d prefer the floor plates were a little smaller and the building was a few stories higher - but this building will have a great street presence. There will be nice pedestrian activity at street level. - and, most important, more new residents! Really nice addition!
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Looks like we’re going to see a lot of buildings reflected in the SW tower based on that pic.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Love this project - Maybe a mural on that wall on 668?
-
Cleveland: Random Development and News
I’d absolutely love an interview with Justin Bibb about this stuff - keeping all these projects happening should be a very high priority for the mayor of Cleveland Seems like the city is on a bit of a roll construction-wise - what a shame it would be if basically staffing issues helped discourage the very people that want to invest in the city.
