  1. Hey UO fans, should we start a “go fund me” to cover some of @Geowizical’s hours?
  2. Hopefully that “giant park” soon has a number of beautiful high rise residential towers looking down at it.
  3. And at the risk of going off topic for one second - that pic above really makes me want that new Bedrock 600 footer on the Nucleus site - I'm picturing the skyline with that added in!
  4. https://www.bizjournals.com/cleveland/news/2022/06/14/the-peninsula-reveals-final-look.html
  5. How are you guys liking the new renderings for the Peninsula? Not totally loving the townhouses, but the apartments are a big upgrade.
  6. Some of us were wishing you do and that you were!
  7. I wasn’t aware that FE was beginning to have infrastructure issues - I had thought most of the work and updates were more cosmetic in nature. Then again, especially for those of us who have been around awhile, It might be surprising to realize that FE is now among the older stadiums in the NFL / there are 17 newer ones. It’s going to be extremely interesting to see what the future will bring for the Browns home. I doubt the Haslams are going to be content without a new stadium at the earliest opportunity. Not sure what the popular consensus will be, but I’ll be rooting hard to see a new stadium location for the next generations of Browns fans - with the golden opportunity to transform the current stadium site into the waterfront that can help take Cleveland to the next level. The potential for this city’s future is amazing. But some critical decisions are just over the horizon.
  8. Wonder if that open top was ever questioned by design review - seems like it would look much better from the air with a complete rooftop.
  9. I know it’s a lot easier to call in a request than it is to actually produce a rendering - but I don’t think we’ve seen SW imagined from this angle, as photographed by @MayDay Hopefully @Geowizicalor @Plecoor one of our talented artists can change that..
  10. Great article by @KJPwith really cool updates and renderings. The Pearl is one smart and sexy project. It should be really transformative to the area, which is becoming increasingly urban and interesting. This building should really shine at night, too. Gonna be exciting watching this one come to fruition.
  11. Sometimes our “UO” sightings are like “UFO” reports - there’s a very pedestrian explanation to what we hope is something much more!
  12. ^ My sentiments exactly!
  13. Ah that good old airport on the lakefront…
  14. I’m in for the Ferris Wheel. Good look and timeless and who can resist ?
  15. LOVE IT! I have only one question - When do they start Intro 2?
  16. Yes, this is going to really transform the whole western perspective of downtown and might spur even more development adjacent to the park. . A truly wonderful project.
  17. The Plain Dealer ran a cover page story on the 29th about the latest lakefront development push - but it was subscriber only and I could only find page one of the story online. Anything news worthy at all in that piece?
  18. Thank you for sharing that @LlamaLawyer A couple thoughts on the hall - the emphasis on more live performances is excellent - I’ve always thought there should be a real physical venue for live performances and wish that was a component of the expansion. The design of the expansion - that guitar pick ( or whatever it is) low corridor slicing into the current museum - very disappointing. The expansion should’ve been immediately iconic as was the original RRHF. Wishing the Rock Hall all the best recovering from the setback of the pandemic.
  19. Didn’t know there were birds migrating at night.
  20. With your indulgence, I’d like to continue the exchange about “tower lighting” that @Mov2Ohiomentioned in the SW thread. While checking out some nighttime skyline photos of Cleveland and Cincy, I thought that the Queen City had some outstanding night lighting - a lot due to its Great American Tower with its illuminated Tiara. I love what CLE does with the Terminal Tower, of course, but I’d love to see more done with a few of the bigger towers in town - this shot of EY at night shows how much the additional lighting complements our PS towers and adds to a bigger city feel. Imagine what lighting for Erieview or the Stokes Courthouse or One Cleveland Ctr. would do - and, of course, SW on the way in 2 years.
  21. This is only tangentially related to SW HQ developments- but since you mentioned it- which downtown towers that were formerly lit up are no longer?
  22. We need a campaign to reclaim the title Forest City - not just by name - but by design throughout our urban corridors.
  23. Exactly. Think of the “Welcome Center” as an attractive buffer between the public and the HQ. If they wanted the public in, they would’ve put in a rooftop restaurant or similar - that’s obviously not what they want. This is the front lawn that you’re not supposed to be playing on. I’m thrilled to have the HQ downtown off the square, but let’s be honest…
  24. At least that big crane will be on the scene as The 22 Browns season gets underway - that should be a good look.
