Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
If you read the planning commission document, they are envisioning a 1,030 space parking garage -- 630 spaces below grade and 400 above.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
You're going to have a hard time getting the corner of Elm and 12th cleared out of loitering by the homeless as long as the Drop Inn Center is right there.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I was just thinking today that the Phillips pick-up has to be the best Reds personnel move of the last decade in terms of value given versus received. Obviously drafting guys like Votto and Bruce has paid off, but Phillips was just a great transaction for the Reds. Looking from afar, the Indians have a lot of nice pieces, but they need a big bat pretty badly (at least based on the lineups they've been putting out against the Reds).

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
Does this mean Cranley's career as a developer is over? Or am I mistaken that the reason he resigned last time was because he was developing properties in the Incline District (which could potentially implicate conflicts)?

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I heard a bit of that on the radio down here in Cincy this morning. Sounded great!

Cincinnati: Downtown: City Club Apartments / 309 Vine Redevelopment
Is there still 245,000 feet in Atrium One even after Omnicare moved in?

Dayton: General Business & Economic News
That's a great plaudit for Dayton and I do like the Art Institute, but it does seem surprising.

Cincinnati: Population Trends
Well, they can't both be right. I have to say that, for once, the Enquirer's figures seem a lot more in-depth than the 30,000 foot figures from that website you've been using.

Metro Jobs 2007-2012
According to that article, didn't Cleveland lose 8000 jobs between April 2011 and April 2012?

Metro Jobs 2007-2012
Just struggling with some of the conclusions. Jcbmh says 20,000 more people are employed, but that article says Cleveland lost nearly 8000 jobs. So is it actually the case that Cleveland is plus 28000 in relative terms of unemployment? Does the 20,000 account for the 8000 jobs that were lost (and presumably mean 8000 people not employed)?

Metro Jobs 2007-2012
http://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/news/2012/06/04/dayton-adds-4800-jobs-in-12-month.html Interesting story on jobs numbers. Good news for most Ohio cities. On the other hand, I don't know how to reconcile all the various numbers we see (including in this thread and elsewhere).

Cincinnati: Downtown: Terrace Plaza Hotel
That's sad.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
I love that the second comment in that article is someone from Cleveland getting all upset that the author pointed out there are more higher-rated restaurants in Cincy than in Cleveland. It reads like a bad UO thread.

Cincinnati/NKY International Airport
I saw this. Good news, and seems to at least partially explain the end of CVG-CLE. Also, I was surprised to see that there were still 200 Delta departures each day from CVG, which puts it on about the same scale as the United hub in CLE. For some reason I thought that it had contracted well below that.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
http://www.wvxu.org/news/wvxunews_article.asp?ID=10090 The city has voted to use eminent domain to acquire the property for the streetcar garage. WVXU says it was a 6-3 vote, but only lists Smitherman as voting against it. I assume the other two no's were Winburn and Sittenfeld.

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
By the way, I was at the game last night. Pretty good crowd--23,000--but I would like to have seen more. It was great when Meso hit the grand slam, though.

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
Well, thanks to the Phillies holding on (10-9) over the Cards, the Reds are back in first by a half game. Pitching has been great so far. I'd like to see the team start hitting, and I think it's going to happen. Playing Frazier and Heisey more is the right move; if Votto and Bruce get out of these slumps they are in, look out. I am concerned about Phillips, though.

US Economy: News & Discussion
I don't know if you have been following politics in Germany, but Merkel is already in deep trouble. The last two significant elections (on a more local, not national scale) have gone against Merkel and the Christian Democrats. They have lost huge chunks of ground against parties on the left (who presumably are not as zealous about austerity as she).

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
Well, I guess it just depends on where the parking is and how they typically measure it. If there is a lot of street parking and, for example, they don't count street parking when looking at a suburban residential property, I wouldn't expect them to do so there.

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
By which I mean to say that it's comparing a primarily residential building in a smaller footprint to the Wal Mart.

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
Graymare, I may be misreading your post, but it's not actually a JCPenney. It used to be back in the day and was remodeled--beauty salon in the basement, retail on the first floor, offices on the second, 19 condos above that. (I took your post to mean it's an unfair comparison because both JCPenney and Wal Mart would have parking needs, but the site size of the JCPenney doesn't seem to account for that.)

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
Five in a row! The offense needs to pick it up, but the pitching has been lights out. I'm going tonight, which means they will probably lose. I think they've lost the first three games I've been to this year. :(
