  9. 'Selfishness' leaves Bengals in disarray October 2, 2007 12:32 AM Posted by ESPN.com's Mike Sando from Cincinnati A dysfunctional Bengals locker room could be near its breaking point. Standing outside the locker room following the Patriots' dominating victory at Paul Brown Stadium, reporters could hear coach Marvin Lewis ripping into his team. Lewis used the word "selfishness" in his public comments when asked what the Bengals would see if they looked into a mirror. Full story: http://myespn.go.com/profile/hashmarks?tag=pats-bengals
  10. a better article about the cincinnati poop crisis Bengals: Let us cut the poop BY JANE PRENDERGAST AND MARK CURNUTTE | [email protected] AND [email protected] Operators of Paul Brown Stadium want permission from the city to kill birds that have been pooping on Bengals fans. Pigeon droppings have been falling on patrons and into their food and beverages, according to a letter to the city from Eric Brown, managing director of Paul Brown Stadium Ltd., which runs the stadium for Hamilton County, which owns it. He asked in his letter that stadium employees who are familiar with firearms be allowed to shoot birds a few days prior to an event, adding that company officials believe the shooting to be a “cost-effective way to get this problem under control.” Full story: http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070927/NEWS01/309270023
  11. PSU-WVU used to have a pretty intense rivalry before PSU joined the Big 10.
  12. Dude, you're only 1-2... the Patriots won their first Super Bowl a few years back after starting 0-2. The Bengals have a lot of potential... they're just prone to boneheaded mistakes and breakdowns.

well... I figured since Bengals and Browns fans united in hating on the Steelers (Ohio's 3rd favorite NFL team according to SI) in this thread... I'd try to soften their stance towards my team with a heart-warming human interest story.

Meet 'Seven' Friday, January 27, 2006 Annie O'Neill, Post-Gazette Meet Seven and his mom, Stephenie Barber Seven was born Oct. 26, 2004, between Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's fourth and fifth consecutive victories of his rookie season. Although Seven's parents -- who live in Indiana, Pa. -- are often asked whether they named their son after Mr. Roethlisberger, they were actually inspired by another Western Pennsylvania institution: After driving by an 84 Lumber sign, they "decided to go with something numerical," said Mrs. Barber. 18. http://www.brookings.edu/~/media/Files/rc/reports/2007/05metropolitanpolicy_vey/20070529.pdf Restoring Prosperity: The State Role in Revitalizing Ohio’s Older Industrial Cities Keynote Address by Bruce Katz City Club: Cleveland, Ohio May 29, 2007 Introduction I want to thank you for the invitation to speak today and for the privilege of sharing this platform with Lee Fisher, whose work on behalf of children and families and communities I have long admired. Today, I want to review the key findings of a report released just last week by the Brookings Institution entitled Restoring Prosperity: The State Role in Revitalizing Older Industrial Cities. This report confirms what most of you here today already know. Many of Ohio’s older industrial cities, including Cleveland, continue to struggle economically and socially, battered by deindustrialization, the legacy costs associated with the prior economy, patterns of racial segregation and the urban undermining tilt of past and current state and federal policies.
  19. I thought Marvin Lewis was a defensive guru? Why can't he seem to build a decent defense to complement the explosive offense?
  20. Congratulations, Browns.
  21. wow... what a shocking result... kinda reminds me of that high-scoring Bengals-Browns shootout from a couple years ago.
