  1. They paused to be sure of funding, but now it's moving forward with the removal of sediment. which will take more than two years. Who knows what the situation will be in 2028 and beyond, but at least this portion of the project is secure, and work is beginning.
  2. If anyone is interested in stained glass skylight panels from the Sterling Linder department store (1255 Euclid Ave), you can get them here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1ETKWbnztQ/?
  3. Channel 5 News story is here
  4. I've been wanting Sweet Greens to open some NE locations. This sounds like a nice consolation prize. Plus it's a good excuse to check out INTRO
  5. It looks like people are setting up to watch a water main break. At least wait until there is an aesthetically reasonable plan before closing the street.
  6. Which is why Wrigley works so well now. 4 1/2 miles from the Wrigley Building to Wrigley Field. It's 2 1/2 miles from Public Square to League Park. It's not a matter of distance as much as density and ease of access. It's not hard to hop on a train an get dropped off right by the park.
  7. The facilities at Blossom were initially designed to accommodate 8,000 people, which they do beautifully. In 50 years, there have never been the necessary changes made to move 23,000+ in and out of the property. Hopefully the Brook Park layout will consider immediate needs and future expansion for traffic flow.
  8. The Cleveland Clinic doesn't have a colossal facility full of God knows what at that particular freeway exit... yet.
  9. Just a throwaway joke about our years of lakefront frustration. I'm looking forward to seeing this development. I spend a good amount of time at the Lakefront Nature Preserve, and it will be great to walk over to this for additional trails and park space.
  10. LOLWUT Loftiness Over Likeliness Waterfront Upgrade Transformation
  11. Google Earth finally updated the 3D models of downtown. It's been since the earliest stages of the Hilton construction. Lumen, Hilton, Beacon, City Club and SW are finally showing up.
  12. Progressive Field is surrounded by ginkgoes that are very tough and adaptable street trees, but they have a pretty scraggly growth habit. They went cheap on the cultivars.
  13. Would this be the museum version of Spirit Halloween?
  14. Trust in progress has to move in both directions. Haslam has probably seen enough master lakefront plans come and go to not wait for his sports book to depend on it.
