Would it not make more sense to leave Canal where it is and build over it? Allow traffic to flow through underneath the pedestrians for at least part of the run.

Is anyone here familiar with the severity of gas emissions or fumes from asphalt production? Maybe I’m out of touch with the realities of property value, but I would pay well for a nice view, and I would pay $0 for a property on which I’m inhaling benzene, sulphur dioxide, etc.

Judging by the Google street view from last summer, I'm guessing that it was an unaddressed irrigation leak that cratered the sidewalk. Big puddles between the trees while everything else is dry

I'm seeing a lot of beautiful elements, but the transition from strait-laid wood to herringbone to the hexagonal floor pattern and light fixtures seems odd. I have to say that rooms themselves look great.
