^^^^According to PCI magazine, which is what these companies like to flaunt at trade shows, Junes edition has PPG #1 at 15.4 billion and SW #2 at 14.03. They flop almost every year. But trust me when I say there will be a tower that is bigger and more spectacular!!!

I can guarantee there will be one tower at least over 635' tall....because that is how tall One PPG Place (the Glass Palace) is. That is SW's biggest competitor and the only coatings company larger than SW.

This is the longest rehab in the history of the world. If you look at old pics of the Playhouse Square lighting and signs going up, there was work being done in 2013

Breen Technical Center, which houses the architectural coatings labs, are already downtown. (if you use the technical definition of downtown Cleveland ) Plus the Old Valspar technical center is smack in the middle of downtown Minneapolis. SW building their new labs downtown would make total sense

If I'm remembering correctly, There were people on the Design board who felt that the Hilton "disappears" at times because of the glass and because it sits alone. Thats why they asked for something to break that up. Personally I think it was fine with the original design because all the building around it reflect off of the glass and really help it stand out. Thankfully white stripes are only on two sides

They poured the 30th floor yesterday. so 29 stories complete ..5 stories to go

Ummmm......I call on the labs at SW all the time. They are filled with a variety of people from all different walks of life. but I can tell you that many of them already live downtown and would hate being moved out to the outer burbs. And KJP, youre correct in saying that the labs are more like college labs. The Canal Road tech center does all of the Architectural coatings work. So its almost all water-based or high solids chemistry.

just thinking out loud here, but if a massive "supertall" is built on the Jacobs lot, I'm assuming a parking garage of some sorts will also be built? so.......Weston gets a garage with hopefully apartments or retail wrapping the outside of it?

Just got back from NYC last week.....With all the massive amounts of construction on 1000' buildings, no lanes are closed and all sidewalks are open.

My question is....if this project falls thru....Does Stark just sit on the parking lot and garage and collect the revenues and never develop it??
