Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
As I was walking down to the NorthCoast harbor last night, as I do most nights, I pass Williard Park and always wonder...Why does a major intersection on 9th and Lakeside have a never used patch of grass? Move the Free Stamp and it would be a fantastic spot for an apartment or condo tower. Fantastic views of the lake and downtown.

Cleveland: Retail News
Please tell me the "quality" difference in a bag of organic spinach between the two stores....or bananas, or a bag of frozen peas??? this is silliness. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say most downtown residents do the bulk of their grocery shopping elsewhere and use Heinens as the "oh sh*t I forgot something" because the prices are crazy high.

Cleveland: Retail News
Or it feels like I live downtown and the prices at Downtown Heinens are significantly higher than at Steelyard Aldis. So if Heinens wants to capture more downtown grocery shoppers and prevent a lot of us from doing our main grocery shopping while were out and about, they can evaluate their price structure.

I agree! Its definitely gotten busier on the sidewalks.......now if they want more business, stop charging me $4 for a bag of lettuce and $4.25 for half gallon of lactose free milk lol!!!

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
After walking by it today, It look much better than what it used to look like. The composite panels they used have a slight texture, and look ok. Still is such a disappointment compared to the rest of the buildings.

Its still a fabulous renovation!

Its not vinyl siding....I believe it is a Fiber reinforced composite. They have used them on other parts of the exterior. The Athlon across the street used a lot of Fiberglass materials also. The thing I don't like is how thin they are.....Just makes it look cheap against the windows. I've been wrong many times before, so hopefully as more goes up, it looks better!

That its very thin and shiny. And the fact that it is plastic.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
I'm thinking this is good news for Downtown. Cleveland needs two convention centers like a hole in the head. Most events can move to Huntington Convention Center.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
^^ yup, they tried to get one added to the plan, if memory serves, but there was no political will to push for it. More important to have those 6 lanes of traffic!!

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
How big do you think downtown is? there are probably 10K people live within a 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile of that intersection. maybe more. Plus have you ever heard of "running the bridges"?? People run that loop every day. people bike and run over Hope bridge from Ohio City and Tremont also. I won't even mention the 2 massive sports venues across the street.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
I took a tour on Wednesday....They told me that there will be projections from the buildings across the street. But he was not sure when that would happen. Also said that the Tailor shop on 14th was going to move into one of the retail spots, and also mentioned a convenience store. The tour is pretty neat....the 5th floor patio is pretty cool and the workout area and meeting areas are first rate. Apartments are very nice!
