I don't see the fewer scoring attempts made compared to other sports a weaknees. All those tiny little plays and strategies amass and maximize the odds of a shot on goal. The build up to that magic moment is a beautiful thing. Ya, sometimes you luck out but the majority of the time the oppositon is just out executed. The key though is to maxmize your odds which done with skill and strategy throughout the whole field just not who actually takes the shot. Go Croatia! Sorry yabo ;)
  2. I have tickets for this in August. Can't wait.
  3. Nice! Well let that pace slide since it's obviously exaggerated with the time to take all great pics ;)
  4. I actually first moved to this neighborhood when they were shutting down. I heard from other residents that stabbings were rather common around Moda during it's later years of existence. A lot of the long time residents still live here and will be weary of anything that remotely sounds close to Moda. Heck, I remember before TownHall opened people were concerned about the clientele it would bring (referencing West 6th club people) I personally have no strong opinion either way.
  5. It's not your "typical" transit but I could get into the idea of an air tram! I have ridden them in other parts of world and I could see it working here.
  6. My comment was meant to be read as two separate thought processes. The first was that I really like this type of layout and built form. I would want to live in such a place. On the other hand there was no consideration in the initial plan for transit other than personal auto. I don't own a car so this would not be a viable option for me. Yes, I could walk but that would not be ideal 365. And I wouldn't walk to Settlers Landing, I would walk to Tower City in that instance. I don't think RTA should shell out the money to expand transit here, I would prefer the developers pool money to provide the option. If they don't, fine, that's their choice. I just wouldn't be able to live there, and other car-less persons would find it difficult to live here as well, that's all. The second portion was just spit balling about what "could be" with a feeder single rail into TC (and KJP logistically shot it down :'( ). I'm aware it's extremely early in the process but I don't think it hurts to get initial thoughts out there. Who knows who reads this forum...
  7. I like it a lot. I would definitely buy in a neighborhood like that if there was just some transit options. I wonder how much it would cost to restore the train lift bridge next to Carter bridge and feed into the waterfront line Tower City approach.
  8. Definitely CGIed a few buildings in there to fill in the gaps.

Agree. Very entertaining this year. My regular teams are not in this cup so I adopted Croatia and have not been disappointed.
  10. Keeping the airport, I think it would be nice to have a public path around the perimeter of the whole dike at some point. Then maybe a downtown beach somewhere on the northeast side. There is an access road around the whole thing. Does anyone know the regulations for public rows next to an airport. Is the acess road too close? Obviously you would need fencing and such.

  12. Dedicated bike signal is up at Superior and Huron this morning. The far right east bound lane is bike only.
  13. My comment about Orlando was circa 2006ish. So as far as I know it is very possible actual bread was made there in 1990s.
  14. Cool! I've always known it as a bakery. First time I drove past it in the 1990s when I was getting to know the West Side, the wonderful smell of that bakery was strong to smell from inside a sealed car on a winter day. It wasn’t actually a bakery, just an outlet for nearly expired Hough products and...... I just realized I’m very old. They also sold Orlando Baking "Oops" products.
  15. Releasing ballons with letters attached to them was still a thing in 1990. I sent one out in elementary school and someone from Holmes county actually replied.

  17. Bingo. It's consumerism at its finest. The experience that your having something exclusive. It gets you exited to spend the money. Doesn't matter that it's really no better than plenty of other options in the area. When Flipside opened in FEB I thought they had pretty good burgers. High quality ingredients, put together well, interesting toppings. That was a local chain and didn't seem to get the excitement going though. I still say Johnny's Little Bar has my favorite burger in town. I'm headed out to Pinecrest next week for an event at City Works. Its free. Kind of interested to see what goes on over there. But will most likely never be back even for a Shake Shack burger 8)
  18. Alot of the food on the Mediterranean is shared between countries. If you go to Greece, you can get pasta bolognese (pasta with meat sauce), which is actually what Cincinnati Chili is. The unique thing is actually the cheddar cheese, not the pasta. Good point about the cheese but I wouldn't discount the spaghetti. I cant think of any other city/region where they put greek/cincy chili on spaghetti. Also remember that no one in the old world is putting bolognese, meat sauce or any other heavy sauce on spaghetti. You need thicker cuts, shapes or stuff with ridges to hold it. Its likely spaghetti was used because it was the most accessible in the new world. And the same goes for bolognese, marinara, etc. My guess with Greek chili is someone (Greek, Lebanese, insert other ethnicity), somewhere (Cincinnati, East Coast) had a stock pot of extra left over moussaka meat sauce and started putting on other stuff. My moms family is from Athens Gr. They came here sometime before the War and settled in Kane, PA a small town outside Warren. There was a small Greek restaurant already established there, that put Greek chili on hot hogs and other stuff. Texas Hot. I'm remembering a date of 1910 or something like that for that place. Kane is small, i'm assuming they weren't the first to start doing it. It could be Cincinnati, i'm not trying to take that away from you guys! I just really like food and find this stuff interesting.
  19. Hope you don't mind I posted the pic here. The thread suject was a perfect match. Your drone shots are fantastic btw. I need to get back down there. A lot has been done since last time I was in Cincinnati. Keep the updates coming!
  20. I have always wondered where greek chili truly orginated from. As far as I know though, thowing it on spaghetti is unique Cincinnati.

Going to have nightmares about those tonight. That reversed charging call though, ugh.
  22. Nice pic. Not a fan of the gray material used on the facade insets but the sections of brick and light stone (sandstone?) outweigh the gray. I'm impressed overall. I thought there was a censor box at Superior, Huron point haha.
  23. I forgot they were going to demo the apartment on 73rd. That's a shame.
  24. Hello down there.
