Cleveland: Flats East Bank
What are we referring to with headway? The bulkhead? If so, what if instead of extending the bulkhead out, construct a boardwalk on pylons to make the needed connections in front of the existing structures already built up to the waters edge . Still expensive but might make it more feasible.

Housing Market & Trends
I found this article interesting. The speculation made by the author seems pretty logical to me, especially the part about ex-urban eventually moving back into a more rual/agricultural role. https://www.strongtowns.org/journal/2018/4/4/the-big-theory-on-american-urban-development

I don't know about the legality of removing her stuff but as casual observer it sounds like the ex bo might be an issue as well.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Mu, the proposed project doesn't meet the minimum parking requirement in this area. I'm not an expert in this stuff either, just pay enough attention to be dangerous! I got word from a knowledgeable person that there has been significant opposition to the development specifically surrounding the lack of parking provided. I don't know the exact numbers (maybe someone more fluent in this can help out) but there is 33 residential units and retail. From the PDF I looked at it seems only 30 total parking spaces are provided. I think residential is 1 spot per unit and there is also additional requirements for the retail. Apparently the opposition wants the minimum and then some! Which without going underground would require a loss in the number of units. And this is the same group of people that on the other hand are complaining that people are getting pushed out of Ohio City. We just need to give the council ammo that there is a sizable population invested in this area that would like to see the development go through as planned and that we chose humans over cars.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I'm hearing that the 33 unit residential development proposed at 3929 Lorain is getting a lot pushback from our favorite anti any development group. As you may have guessed they are attacking the easement requested for minimum parking provided. Unfortunately, I think we have to gather our resources from this site again to email our support of the project. If interested, please email Kerry McCormack [email protected] and any other parties tied to Ohio City council.

Chicago: Developments and News
Boom towns! The more Cleveland infills and densifies (re-densifies) the more it will be like the Chicago (obviously without the older classic Chicago style stuff). They have slight architectural differences but have the same layout. Main drag commercial/residential streets with detached single family, multi family mixed-in side streets.

Something new is going into E 8th spot (a-bar, black dog, one before that is escaping me ). Sign was being installed today, but all I could read was something with an 8 on the end. Maybe someone here knows more?

I have been watching this go up from the red line. It looks massive. Are we sure this is single family. If so, I would call it a compound rather than a home.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
Anyone remember him getting arrested for starting a flash mob at southpark mall in Strongsville? I think that was his big breakout stunt. Pretty funny since his whole shtik is of a hard dude. Good for him though, has more money than me.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
There are a lot of things that can/should be done. One that comes to mind is the lack of support from the city. The city subsidizes parking. Muni for example, you can park there for 'free' at the company I work at and the last company I worked for, the same thing. Difference is the previous company gave you the option of a month parking pass at the muni OR $50 a month for RTA. The company I work for now there was no RTA option. Because I moved with quite a few other people from company A to B I actually got to see the results first hand. About 20% maybe a little more were transit riders, all of them switched upon moving to company B, many didn't want to but spending money on RTA when they pay you not to makes zero sense, unless you don't have a car (my case). They city should not be subsidizing parking and if they do they should require the company getting the subsidy is also offering a similar package for transit. It's just really painful to watch as a transit advocate. We just had someone come in that lives near west side on Detroit. I ended up giving him a 5 ride pass that I had two left on so he could try out the 26 one day. When I talked to him the next day he said that it was great, sooo much better than driving. But . Its free to park at muni. ugh!

Not the best representation, but here is an image of a Mayfield street view from last week. Picture doesn't do it justice, but you definitely get that "cozy" feeling now coming down into LI.

This Panini's is closing up at the end of year when their lease expires. I heard about this directly from the owner. Fair enough. Owner > Bartender
