  1. No, and agree, it needs to be saved.
  2. My only complaint on the 50th and Lorain project is I think they should work to keep both existing building on the corner (only one is included currently). I don't think the renders fully capture what a single building taking up nearly a full blocks worth of frontage along Lorain will feel like. Even though the existing building is small I think retaining it can only help to blend the new development in better. Also being small I doubt it will be hard to include it in this project as well.

Software engineers are not an exception. Though, everything else you wrote above is my experience as well. I'm a senior level programmer. We need to have a software "architecture" meeting about every other day. Virtual meetings take at least twice as long to accomplish what we did in person. I'm losing on average 6 hours a week to that inefficiency. Only after we have these meetings do we document in writing and use email to transmit or more likely a wiki. Email is more for HR, not normal person conversation in my field. I think for programmers the best formula is a 4 day work week, 2 days in office to devise and communicate the plan and two at home to put you're head down and code it. I bet that would translate to other jobs as well.
  4. 4500 Lorain Nick's... Soon to be a Proof bbq
  5. Yep, that one! It only took a months work to salvage.
  6. Seems like the structural work has completed at 4500 Lorain Ave already. Scaffolding is down as interior work continues. I didn't have my phone on me but will snap a pic next time I pass it. Looking good.
  7. Last I heard it's still on the table. Between cle and cvg I believe. 🤞
  8. There's a pretty good drone photosphere right above this area in google maps, if anyone is interested. https://goo.gl/maps/x2VzjnMkfnknrDKA6
  9. I like the use of "Grand Staircase" (watch out Montmartre!) It leads you to surface parking and an exposed parking deck 😆 I swear, majority of developers have totally forgot or just plain ignore how to build actual cities.
  10. Glad to see this building getting fixed up. North side of Lorain and 48th
  11. I'm not a fan of the Franklin roundabouts. I think Yobo is right in that they weren't designed well. More so with the smaller ones, at like 50th and 54th I think. How are these a better pedestrian expereince? You have to make 4 right angles to get a across Franklin. I avoid those streets now. Or just cross straight like it used to be (which is obviously more dangerous)
  12. Fair enough. As written it did leave it open to broad interpretation. I'll clarify. Great cities for people and automobiles are incompatible.
  13. I like it! It's always a fun exercise to show how much potential we have to build up and densify around our existing train station nodes. Maybe phase 2 will include the same residential over commerical treatment along Lorain and 65th in front of Zone rec? 😉
  14. The post was about urban areas not long distance travel routes. Good cities and automobiles are incompatible.
  15. I think it's the Great Lakes Brewing portion. From yesterday.
  16. Forest more growth ponzi scheme
  17. Finally made it up to Edda coffee recently. It's a pretty large space and was still packed with people working and hanging out (weekday afternoon)

Late season at the bulk terminal. As the Huletts look on from their forest of solitude: ... + Bonus pic from the Guards win on Saturday!:
  19. Where are they living up there?? That's wild
  20. I don't think the Syracuse and New Albany facilities would be making products in direct competition with each other. From what I read, the Ohio Intel fab is going after 5nm and below... maybe 3nm. Which would put them in a very small club with Samsung and TSMC. It's apparently really difficult to get the next generation fab machines that only come from ASML. So far only Samsung and TSMC are making these really advanced chips. Intel is going to see if they can pull it off. I think Micron does more common chips for ram.
  21. Krill has a good track record with historic renovations. Also interested to see if there will be any new construction in the plan and what that may look like.
  22. Why does campus police even need to be on 25th anyways. Put it on the campus where 3/4 of the area is grass/"park". Why knock more buildings down?
  23. This is past where Euclid ave makes the northeast turn. So from that alignment, we are looking southwest of downtown. The ridge in the background is probably the Parma, Seven Hills area
