  1. *I didn't overhear anyone in the office verbally gripe about the closure, which surprised me.
  2. Euclid reroute information going around office this morning.
  3. If it outlived it's usefulness and funding is in short supply, then why reconstruct it in the exact same fashion (as a freeway). I don't understand your logic. They could have reduced the infrastructure a great deal by reducing to 4 at-grade lanes without a landscaped median. Got rid of those crazy entrance/exit ramps and underpass on the western edge from West Blv and Lake. In addition, remember you don't have to deal the rails East of 58th. So the intersections there are much, much easier.
  4. At least we know people are asking the right questions in these committees and there was serious consideration. Still, it's a shame nothing could get done... I can't get over that garage!
  5. Snapped last night from LI station deck. 2 more floor, right?
  6. I wonder if they explored the option of adding some shallow aparment units to the garage frontage along Euclid. and maybe add a few floors to the height to compensate. That would be much nicer then a stand-alone 4 story garage (no matter how you dress it up). Especially considering a large goal of this project is to activate the area more.
  7. It was never my impression that building was coming down, though I wish it would. I know the county still owns the building immediately adjacent to that parcel as well. It was my thinking that everything north of the Riverview tower was coming down as part of the stabilization effort.
  8. Looked like there was some asphalt roof repair going on this morning at the building on the southeast corner of Detroit and W25th. Wasn't this building coming down soon, why would you put money into it? Anyone know what was going on?
  9. Got to look around last week with my uncle. Looks great! My only reservation is the stigma of the post-grad crowd in Warehouse District. Otherwise, everything is first class. I'm defiantly going to check it out soon. Interested to see how Johnson Court is looking. That street has all the potential to be a more laid back "escape" from W6th and W9th. Hopefully Dalad got the ball rolling on its transformation.
  10. I saw open house tours for Worthington Yards start today, 5:15 and 6:30pm
  11. most would blow there tops with Venice type density!
  12. Nice touch making the rail bed look like a river.
  13. They set that crane up there once in awhile. Not sure what they are doing with the reserve but it's unrelated to 515 :(
  14. Edge32 looks much better than Mariners Watch, in my humble opinion. Nice work Vintage.
  15. ^ haha, but this was a crane.. a crane! And blocking a lane of traffic and everything. OK it was cherry picker, bucket crane, but whatever. Ill keep it to myself... for now :)
  16. Looked like they were removing a street light or something in front of 515 just now (sorry for the crap details, was on the bike and trying not to get hit). Preparation, maybe??
  17. Does anyone know where he got this $100M figure from?
  18. Doubtful. You could essentially put in a dog park with the space needed for 6 people to store their cars.
  19. The new sound effect they play before the 'pedestrian, bus is approaching' spiel on turning buses and trolleys is horrible. It sounds like a noise a cb radio makes. I guess they did studies for the most annoying sound, so that people instinctively look up?
  20. Joe Lanzilotta did this one (local guy).
  21. I tend to agree with KJP that stuff like Samsel is what makes the flats the flats. And if they still run a viable business out of there, then even better. It would be nice on the eyes though if they replaced the corrugated steel with some windows. Also maybe they can work with a developer to build on their surface lot?
  22. Here is a picture with the long warehouse building from the aerial shot provided above viewable at street level . Also before St Clair "kink" removed.
  23. Rotate the garage and put one cleveland center on top and you could have left all three of those buildings to be converted, those nice narrow streets remain and room yet for some more in-fill. Crazy to think how very little of Cleveland survived these years in this area.
