  1. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2021/04/greek-village-grille-to-open-second-location-in-ohio-city.html Exciting!
  2. Just yesterday I noticed that newly exposed sub deck. I didn't know it was there and I definitely didn't expect to come on here and get an excellent full view drone capture of it. Thanks @Agreene!
  3. Right. The theory does kind of sound plausible though. We'll just have to wait and see.
  4. ^ Were they? My concern would not be where Minh Anh lands but rather the thought of now losing Both 5506 and 5428 Detroit to save the Azteca building.
  5. Valid point. ya 45, 50 max at the beginning of May and you can't count on an offshore flow.
  6. Other than drone shots for TV, will you even be able to see the lake with a setup like that? Looks like the the infrastructure will block any views for the people actually there, on the ground.

  8. The dev asked, point blank what height are you guys expecting in the first meeting (I haven't watched the most recent one) and they said 4 stories. So devs made that happen, and they are still not happy?? They are waiting for some magical unicorn that most likely doesn't exist. This development/group hit so many boxes. Local residents, put extra thought into most details, wants to work with/keep existing brew stop biz, no extreme demolition needed, effort put into public uses and street presence, and willing to work with community to change things. But its still not good enough. Just say we don't want anything to happen here and stop wasting everyone's time.

Another fog pic from yesterday. Who caught this really cool picture in r/cleveland https://www.reddit.com/r/Cleveland/comments/m7rmyn/st_pattys_day_2021/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
  10. Congrats on the new hardware.
  11. This is similar to a suggestion I made a few pages back (to little fanfare 😢) If they are thinking midrise then my idea of putting it behind the park would not work due to space constraints. I agree though, all of this looks like it could come together for a massive revamp of the west 3rd corridor... our second (of 2) entries to the lake which are currently both crap. E9th being the other one. That was the purpose of the rectangle I illustrated along w3 bridge. I envisioned a 3-5 story building over the tracks, housing ancillary court uses and retail that would additionally connect transit to the main tower and also serve the overall city benefit of pushing a continuous connection/street wall to the the lake.
  12. 1,400 across the whole of the super blocks. Setup was one below grade with two above, lined in front with retails/amenity.
  13. Not a sit-down restaurant, more of take-away but Mazzone's is temporary closed apparently. My mom called me yesterday, upset that that it closed but according to 19news it's a temporary closure. Hopefully that's true https://www.cleveland19.com/2021/03/07/mazzone-sons-bakery-temporarily-closes/
  14. I could be reading this wrong but after watching the WKYC video, it kind of sounded like they may just want the significance of the establishment acknowledged. Which that part is understandable to me, however saving the structure itself isn't (unless im missing something and there is some ornate detail under the stucco and vinyl siding). Maybe the developer can do something thoughtful, like a plaque or naming arrangement or re-use of the existing signage currently on the front of the building?
  15. okay, now do the jersey barriers!
  16. Of the two buildings why would you pick that one to save and not the one next door.
  17. Maybe the competition next door with City Club will entice K&D to circle back to up their amenity game.
  18. I'm actually trying to think of a downtown Cleveland office building where the public cannot access amenity space on the ground or other floor(s). Ohio Bell Building? (I cant remember ever being in that one) Still we don't know if this is SW's official position. If it is, then that's hogwash.
  19. Is this something the city can push back on if it turns out to be the position SW takes? It's Frankfort "Avenue" and about 40 ft row. We need to embrace the more human scale assets the city still has, such as Frankfort. I would hate for Frankfort to turn out like Short Vincent did.
  20. That's why the is so promising to me. I have almost zero faith Sherwin Williams would give us an excellent urban environment across all that acreage. Especially with accessory structures such parking garages. They just want parking, I don't see them going above and beyond the bare minimum to comply with code. Now if they were to just focus on building a straight up parking structure, within the the block (not along ROW) and then sell the frontage land to other developers to install other uses, then we are left with way better urban form/land use.
  21. I love hearing these words. From the beginning, when it became clear that SW would buy both the super block and public square I was afraid. It's way too much land for one company. At the same time I always held out that maybe they just wanted to buy it all, take the best parts that work for their vision and sell off the rest for other uses. Hearing these words gives me hope this may turn out to be the case!
  22. I don't mind color but something I thought about the first time I saw the building design was the longevity of the pattern at the top. Is it removable/interchangeable panels or is it semi-permanent that will it be faded out in 6 years and how will that look? Its not a metal where we know it will develop an attractive patina over the years. Just a thought.
