Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
Part of the plan in combating global warming is curtailing the unsustainable growth patterns. That crisis is only on hold due to a global pandemic.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I pretty sure I speak for most of us tribe fans in saying that a small piece of us will die inside when the Indians are fully scrubbed, but this didn't just start last week it has been building for decades. Plus when the Chief went away that kind of desensitized me to a name change.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I definitely like the industrial and or maritime direction, which is why the last time the rename came up I suggested the Cleveland Huletts. The mascots are just waiting to be put back together. Runs, you can play an animation of the huletts unloading on the screen with that haunting sound they made ?

The Great USA / World Photo Thread
Crazy. How about homes for Syrian refugees over a 10 euro tourist trap, but i digress. That Meduza video linked on the article is actually how I stumbled across it haha.

Randomly came across this housing development in Turkey, Burj Al Babas. From what I have read it's largely abandoned.

First view I have seen inside the atrium. Looking good.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Noticed this morning the old fashion hot dog sign was gone. Hope this signals the project here is moving forward (also sad to see it go). This jogged my memory that a few weeks ago, I saw signs on the McCafferty Health Center on 45th/Lorain, stating something to effect of save our establishment. Forgot to post at the time but does anyone know if they might be closing down? I'm sure people get help there but the building just has horrible urban form. Wouldn't mind seeing it go, in that regard.

Ya, they are pretty odd spaces, but I wish them luck!

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I could be wrong but the two first floor listings look like the garage structure. The floor plan pictures supplied show the property along Vincent Ave.

^ Phew! I was worried they were going to try to get under the bridge. That's a powder keg if they did.

Downtown Cleveland after Covid-19
My company (downtown office) sent out a survey last week asking for a employees desire to permanently work from home. As far as I know the physical office is not going anywhere and the input was needed to plan for retooling the floors to allow for more distance between employees i.e. everyone not on top of each other. It was a simple yes/no (no from me) but my boss was telling me there might be an option in the future for split time between office and WFH.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
It's a good stretch! I just ran down it the other morning and remembered looking at two houses along there 6 years ago. 5909 was ~160K and 6008 (the weird setback one) was around 60k. I wonder how much property is going for there now.

I can see where you're coming from but web based/api structures are easy to scale up quickly. This whole debacle could have been avoided (or at least remedied quickly). I suspect most the mainframes will be retired for more current db solutions. It's way easier to spin up new server nodes and replicated databases to handle increased web/api traffic. Probably going to be quite lucrative to work in the IT government contract world after all this

Not a huge difference from the last photos posted but starting to get an idea of what the facade color scheme will turn out like.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Which is good overall, but the blue light is coming with the swap it seems like. I feel like there is a good middle ground in cities between having colorful, warm light and just overly bright displays. We'll see how the Lumnn board turns out

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Good luck with that! Seems like all the high pressure sodium street lights are being replaced with with the higher temperature lights, everywhere. I think its because people think it looks better ? (most likely from some deep human condition)

The last one just blew my mind. I never thought about that. Poor guys/gals on primary mission. Though I would assume their initial findings would help the advancement of the following missions thus making that very scenario possible.
