Here is a picture of the old Park Hotel that was located on the land were the Stambaugh Building stands today.

Progress Report on new downtown hotel. It is full steam ahead in converting the Stambaugh Building into a hotel. Most people don't know it, but this new hotel will be the second hotel to occupy this site. Back in the 1899's the Park Hotel was located here and it was demolished to build the Stambaugh Building.

I was able to get newspaper ads for the theaters that I listed, but no actual photos. Tried the MVHS and they too are trying to locate photos for these old theaters.

The Stambaugh Building is in the process of becoming a hotel and should be opened some time next year.

The problem with the MVHS is that their photos are all copyrighted and a fee is attached for copies. The Public Library has a limited photo collection and not what I'm looking for.

Can someone please come to my aid? I'm looking for photos o downtown Youngstown in the 1950's. I'm also looking for pictures of downtown theaters -- Park Theater; Princess Theatre; Grand Theatre; Capitol Theatre; Strand Theatre; Regent Theater; Cameo Theater; Rex Theater; Hippodrome Theater; Lyric Theater; Dome Theater; Orpheum Theater.
