Overall, it's kind of an amazing transformation. The photo above is close to the same vantage point as this historic photo of the manufacturing plant.

It’s not uncommon to build around a tower crane. The floor slabs are designed to leave a stacked opening that is filled in when the crane is removed. The concrete crane foundation is left in place.

Whitehall could double their density and still be lower than the 43202 zip code. I see lots of opportunities for growth.

I did a permit search - it's Pink Development and Construction. The same guy who proposed an 11 story building on Glenwood in Franklinton.

I think the height is great, but the architecture is just a mess. Reminds me of a taller version of this shopping mall in Tartu, Estonia.

This is an interesting assessment of the City of Columbus' fiscal health. It's the nuts and bolts of a city's infrastructure that allows it to grow and prosper. Aging pipes and roads are a liability to a municipality and apparently Columbus is on the right track. This stuff isn't sexy but it make me feel pretty good about our leadership over the last 50 years that positioned us in a good place. It makes me feel better about voting for bond packages. Looks like the MOB on top of the garage is beginning to take shape. That will go up quickly since it’s a steel structure.

The apartments at the Mt Carmel site are wrapping up. There’s a cool pedestrian promenade installed on the south side connecting to the school of nursing (on the right side of the image).

Interestingly, Columbus gained just 700 people less than all other cities on that list combined.

The old apartment building has been demolished and the site fenced off. Hopefully this gets rolling soon. Today:

^That's the departures level vehicular bridge abutment. Nothing vertical on the terminal yet.

^Those cranes are foundation drill rigs. I don't think we'll see the terminal going vertical for quite a while.

Perhaps the garage being demolished had reached the end of its serviceable life. It was built in the 1960s I believe.
