  1. ^I get that. When Dublin Scioto and Worthington Kilbourne were opened they were looked down on by Coffman and Thomas Worthington since a lot of those students lived in Columbus.

1979 Hyatt construction. The bright white, small building beneath the I-670 bridge is the sad Amtrak station.

The comments on the various local news media FB posts have been hilarious! A lot of positive comments about the need for change, but also a lot of nonsensical conspiracy theories about 15 minute city's and "greedy developers". Good stuff!

Just think how awesome Tri-Village would be with 5-7 story buildings on all these lots!
  5. Yeah, that won't happen. It doesn't make sense financially.
  6. What do you mean? The building is of it's time, a fine example of 1980's architecture. Buildings that have facades updated to suite the current fashion generally look horrible a few years later. Who knows what future tastes will be? I think cities should have various styles represented from all eras of that city. Sure, some will be torn down if they outlive their usefulness. This building at 4th and long was updated sometime in the 60s or 70s to make it look modern. The owner at the time evidentially felt the building looked too old-fashioned. We all can agree that this was a mistake and that the original was better.
  7. A portion of Warner Woods is now a nature preserve, one of five new preserves in the City. There are a handful of preserves, all of them north of 5th Ave. https://columbusrecparks.com/facilities/nature-preserves/ https://www.wosu.org/2024-03-27/columbus-adds-five-new-nature-preserves-to-make-parks-more-accessible-amid-development
  8. “The Shoppes at Wedgewood,” you know it's special with the olde timey spelling!! https://www.nbc4i.com/news/local-news/powell/target-to-anchor-new-shopping-center-in-powell/
  9. At least this will reduce the effect of the Thrive monolith across the street..... I'm a glass half full guy!
  10. You just described the old Crew stadium which has a stage on one end.
  11. I'm not sure that's the answer (yet). There's plenty of on street parking despite resident's complaints. It's more about fighting the mindset that one needs to park right outside of their destination and not walk a few blocks. Shared parking is another solution - a restaurant could utilize a bank lot during non banking hours.
  12. I wonder if this project is about to begin construction. This weekend all the used cars in the lot were removed.
  13. It doesn't matter if it's cloudy or not - solar panels will make electricity albeit less efficiently on cloudy days. We need electricity, why not get it from the sun?
  14. ^^Sofidel is ruining the bucolic Pickaway County aesthetic!!
  15. If they graze sheep or goats beneath the solar panels and they won't need to mow!
  16. That type of alley parking lot redevelopment was recently completed behind Gateway. E. 10th is essentially an alley here. It's an administrative issue with the City, but buildings need a street address and the alley between 8th and 9th is unnamed. that can be remedied if the building has a Wall St. address or a zoning variance.
  17. Warner Woods Park. This City of Columbus park is under construction in the NE part of town, NE of Little Turtle.
  18. This view is will change considerably this year. Eastbound Vine at Neil.
  19. Here's a video outlining COTA's shift to all electric busses.
  20. Yup - lots of opportunities here....
