  1. I'm fine with more population in Columbus!
  2. None of the projects listed above are in New Albany. I wasn't aware Northland was near New Albany. 🤣 • The Robert Weiler Co. is poised to build 96 units on 5 acres at 5159 Central College Road. Columbus • The Stonehenge Co. has proposed a 251-unit apartment complex at 5503 Morse Road in Gahanna. • Donald Kenney Jr., principal of Oxford Circle LLC, looks to build a 95-unit apartment complex at 5470 Hildebrand Road in Blendon Township, at Sunbury Rd and 270, surrounded by Columbus. (probably should be annexed into Columbus) • Another developer has proposed building 132 units on 6 acres, or less than 22 units per acre, in the Robinwood Corporate Center in Northland. Columbus • Metro Development LLC in 2020 announced plans to construct a 280-unit apartment complex on the west side of North Hamilton Road near Central College Road, west of New Albany. Columbus

By the 70s most of those buildings were replaced by parking lots. We’re slowly trying to remedy that now. This is from 1976 as the Nationwide tower nears completion.
  4. From the above description, I think this is the property Hamilton Parker holds. If done right, it could be a significant improvement!
  5. It is confusing when neighborhood and review authority boundaries overlap. While Dennison place is in the University District, Dennison place falls in the Harrison West / Dennison Place thread here on UO. Weinland Park and Old North Columbus both are in the University District but have their own threads.
  6. All these affordable housing projects are great, but without reliable and frequent public transportation folks are tied to the expense of cars. Also, sidewalks need to be added throughout the area. Nothing is really walkable out there. This is a crappy place to walk to and wait for a bus.
  7. I'm never sure where the King and High project should be posted. It's in the University District but is also part of Dennison Place sub-neighborhood and thereby the Harrison West/Dennison Place thread.
  8. The application is for a 6 story building, not 5.
  9. The parking lot to the north is owned by someone else.
  10. It's about time. Is Marconi changing to two-way too north of Broad?
  11. Elevator core is at its full height and the carpenters have started. It’s weird but the height of this building and the new one on 7th will make the Kroger parking lot appear smaller.
  12. Bunch of outparcels and a big apartment building - the only walkable part is driving your car to the parking lot and walking into Outback.
  13. I would think they would want a tower tall enough that it acts as a beacon - perhaps visible from I-70.
  14. People curse most frequently in Columbus. https://www.nbc4i.com/news/local-news/columbus/well-columbus-most-foul-mouthed-city-in-us/
  15. Oh, I definitely read them for entertainment purposes. Most commenters are from Marengo or Murray City where more than one car on the road is heavy traffic. I find it curious that they feel compelled to comment.
  16. ^The FB comments on 10TV's page are awesome - a bunch of fear mongering about crime, commuting issues and the pandemic. Sprinkle in comments about high rents and parking. The grocery store issue puzzles me. Suburbanites will think nothing of driving 15 minutes to the Kroger in Sunbury but god forbid you have to cross I-70 to get to the Brewery District Kroger.
  17. King and High - elevator core going up and lumber is being delivered.
  18. This artist painted “we are stronger together” on the Mound St bridge that was recently demolished. She’s painted a lot of cool stuff https://www.birdyco.com
  19. I could get behind an urban, Chicago style car wash with just a garage door right on the sidewalk. This one in Lake View even offers outdoor seating! But I digress....
  20. I recall Mount Air residents pushing back on the Highbanks connections because most criminals arrive on bicycle, or something like that.
