  1. That looks like it will fill in the space between Chipotle and Kilbourne St. That was what was planned as a second phase early on when the Chipotle building was announced.
  2. ^That all part of the Clark Grave Vault factory. I don't think it's empty.
  3. Man, this sucks. The nod to the row houses in the façade on the north end of the west elevation are just a slap in the face.

I'm copying this from a Facebook Group, Do You Remember: Classic Old Columbus https://www.facebook.com/groups/456482067786555/permalink/4577988492302538 The photos are from the Columbus Metropolitan Library and OSU Archives and where assembled by the owner of the FB group. Let me know if this is OK to post since it's from someone's FB page. The photos are from around 1954. It's astounding to see what we lost to accommodate the car. These are photos along the south side of E. Long St. downtown between Pearl and Third. What a loss. 1) The Koller Bros. Co., 41 E. Long St., Best Paint Store, 33 E. Long St., and Scherzer's Bakery, 31 E. Long Street. 2) May Trade-In Store, 73-75 E. Long St., Glick Furniture Co., 65 E. Long St., B&A Paint Co., 51-53 E. Long St., M.M. Freedman Loans, 47 E. Long St., and The Koller Bros., 41 E. Long St. 3) May Trade-In Store, 73-75 E. Long St., Columbus Cycle & Sporting Goods, 69 E. Long St., Glick's Furniture, 65 E. Long St., and Joe Gregory Gunsmith, 57 E. Long St. 4) Emswiler's Electric Co., 85 E. Long St., Dave's Gun Store, 77 E. Long St., May's Trade-In Store, 73-75 E. Long St., Columbus Cycle & Sporting Goods, and 69 E. Long St. 5) Here's what replaced these buildings. Progress.
  5. There’s a construction fence around the Parkside on Pearl project site.
  6. Green roof installation is underway on the ballroom roof.
  7. In a typically timely fashion, The Dispatch is reporting the building will be demolished. The article is behind a paywall but there's nothing new to report from the print edition, other than a demolition permit has not been pulled yet.
  8. Kinda like Barrett on the south side? That turned out really nice, hope this is well thought out too. I love that the original building is being repurposed.
  9. ^That's an older pic - the elevator cores are at full height along the 5th Ave building.
  10. The east side of Downtown could definitely use more parks. Columbus as a whole is woefully lacking in public parks. My understanding is that in Chicago everyone is within a 10 minute walk of a park.
  11. How many Bridge Parks is this site?
  12. I believe that's a light rail line...we can only hope.
  13. One Intel = +/-13 Innovation Districts = 120 Bridge Parks
  14. Wow, the driveways just west are ridiculous.
  15. Perhaps, but it doesn't make financial sense to build 3 or 4 separate buildings. You'll get one building with several different facades like The Nicholas on High St. The richest urban character, in my opinion, is different developers with different architects building buildings whose floor plates do not line up.
  16. Southern Station 😐 what station? It could be worse - "The Station at Grandview" "Station Commons" "The Station Commons at Grandview" "The Station Crossing at Grandview Commons"
  17. That made me laugh too about Encova's self righteous comment considering that once Pizutti's construction is complete, the only eyesore on that corner would be Encova's garage. I think the pedestrian scale of Oak and 9th is nice. Views on 9th terminate on a lovely church on Broad and Topiary Park. I actually like the different ownership on that block. If Kramer or Ryan ever want to develop something the entire block won't look like a mega-development.
  18. ^The parking lot is owned by Egan Ryan funeral home and is used for staging funeral processions. They probably asked too much for the lot and Pizzuti skipped over them. I agree about the early demo - Pizzuti should just collect rents for the next few years.
  19. I forget - is something planned to cover the blank wall of the garage along McDowell? Townhomes perhaps?
  20. I'm assuming it was. They were huge restaurants Edit: I stand corrected - the Easton location was a Kobe Japanese Steakhouse previously
  21. The Miller's at Easton opened in 2019 and has already been torn down.
