  1. The Gravity II site looks like its been prepped to build a parking lot, not a building....
  2. Not the best video, but you get the idea...
  3. ^That black tubing is an erosion control measure - it's a wattle with a filter sock. Construction sites are protected this way to avoid silt runoff to the storm sewers. It could mean construction is starting or it might mean the City cracked down and demanded the site be protected.
  4. That CU headline is misleading. The ballot issue is for the rec center - yes or no. If it passes, great. If not, the developer will proceed with his own plans. From further in the article:
  5. Westminster Thurber has begun construction. Demo of the one story connector building is underway.
  6. In May, according to this: https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/popest/about/schedule.html

^Do you mean the Neil House hotel? It was removed for the Huntington tower in the 80s. https://www.dispatch.com/article/20120825/NEWS/308259783?template=ampart

    State office building construction, 1931
  9. ^You might be right. That makes sense. I was hoping for steel since that would go up faster.
  10. I imagine once they get to the tower portion it will be all steel. That concrete work is really complicated! Looks like the three concrete beams they're pouring now create a wide open space below. I recall there's a ballroom in there somewhere. And those large beams need to carry the load of the tower above.
  11. Anyone know the results of the UIDRB meeting yesterday?
  12. The 2010 version is more historically accurate to the early 1900's double median than the center median plans.
  13. Ground floors are set at 100'-0" - that way basement elevations are positive numbers I guess. Looks like the architect is celebrating the elevator core by placing it at a prominent, yet asymmetrical alignment.
  14. ^Looks like Dublin development in 1997.
  15. Looks like they're using the parking garage to the south as design inspiration.
  16. ^Here ya go. I like the gateway idea! FWI: A new restaurant has opened in the Acre spot, the name escapes me.
  17. ^I used to bank there in the late 90s when it was a Ohio National Bank. Classic bank lobby. There's a huge vault at the back of the lobby. More photos here: https://www.ohioexploration.com/structures/ohionationalbank/ There's always a chance it will be torn down, this is Columbus after all
  18. Most of that block is owned by Plaza Properties. I'm afraid they are waiting for an offer to come along and cash out...
  19. Different Schiff. The Shorth North developer is Michael Schiff (Schiff Capital). This is the personal injury lawyer Scott Schiff (Schiff Properties). I'm assuming they're related? Schiff Properties built the Wilson at Lane and High. That's too much schiff to keep track of 😜
  20. There re a lot of parking lots to fill up in Greater Columbus. I love that suburbs are embracing denser projects. On a side note, whoever created the rendering loves columnar purple beech trees.
  21. OK, that makes sense - they formed a separate LLC for this project. Thanks
  22. Who is NM Developer? The address is above the Victoria's Secret at Easton.

And here’s 8 on the Square under construction on 1905. View is from the Statehouse looking at Broad and High.
