  1. I took the photo around 5:30 Friday evening. There were lots of people south of me and at Michael’s. I didn’t notice that the photo looked like The Day After!
  2. So...looks like all the complaining paid off. The entries have been rebuilt.
  3. High St. has been milled along the phase 2 streetscape. Looks like we’ll have fresh asphalt soon.
  4. ^^I noticed that on the German Village side of Livingston the city is installing traditional sandstone curbs. They look really nice.
  5. ^Unfortunately, that type of curb cut is required by Columbus Traffic. It's a totally suburban solution jammed into an urban setting. I think it's dangerous for pedestrians since it encourages faster vehicular speeds.
  6. Here’s the infill 2-story on Wilcox and Pearl
  7. ^The elevated slab is complete, should see the stick built upper floors soon. This project is really going to change the feel of High St. in north campus.
  8. FYI - GV hates the Children’s Hospital developments. It was mentioned frequently during the public comments at the GV Commission meeting for the McGown hotel as an example of poor development. ?
  9. That's really a long building, a mini Prora.
  10. I don't object to the name. The shopping center was University City. There used to be a movie theater on the site with the same name located where the Applebees is now.
  11. ^Man, that looks like a sad apartment complex from the '90's...
  12. ^The extended columns have more to do with the construction of the post tensioned slab. They're not necessarily for additional floors.
  13. I hate right-outs in urban areas. It's such a suburban traffic engineering solution. Drivers only look left when approaching these exits and never see pedestrians on the right.
  14. ^Is that "moat" of asphalt a drive leading to a service entrance to the museum?
  15. ^Here’s how it looked this afternoon. Highland and 5th looking northwest.
  16. Interesting. 5th Ave has a lot going on.
  17. That was the point of the Cannon Dr. relocation - create more room and a levee.
  18. The Harmony Tower site has been a parking lot for a long time. Here’s a photo from 1973 with billboards on the north face of the Atlas Building. I forgot High used to be a 6 lane road.
  19. But cyclists might fall off the curb into traffic! *sarcasm*
