  1. I didn't read the article, but I know what you mean.
  2. ^Should I rephrase it to "the next lower rent street popular with artists and galleries and not yet overrun by land speculators"?
  3. I like this renovation/expansion. I'm glad they decided to re-purpose the building on 4th.

^It's called COCO: Classic Old Columbus Ohio
  5. I don't know what the population of downtown Indy is but there's a Kroger and a Whole Foods downtown. I don't know what the hold up is in Columbus. https://goo.gl/maps/NP7T9f3jW2syac8KA https://goo.gl/maps/5AvwuFEmPho5wmxZ9

Found on FB. The aerial is circa 1970. The proposed tower was to be 700’ tall. Kind of glad it wasn’t built. The Statehouse grounds look barren because construction of the underground parking garage was recently completed. There are several industrial buildings behind the old vets and central high. And the old Hartman Hotel is still standing at State and 3rd.
  7. The Italian Village garage is starting to emerge from below grade.
  8. It appears exterior finishes are mostly complete on the Pizzuti commercial building. It looks great. Crews were pouring the parking garage component of the 6 story residential piece to the west today. The sidewalk and parking lane on southbound High are open.
  9. High St streetscape plantings are nearing completion. More than a dozen trees didn't survive the winter and need to be replaced.
  10. The photo is from a Facebook group - someone snapped it during the committee meeting. It's 13 stories tall - I'm surprised no media has reported on this project. The view is looking southwest, the Hippie Hut building is in the foreground.
  11. ^That's good news for the neighborhood. I worked as a bagger at that Kroger when it was new in the late '70s.
  12. The King and High project will be presented at the University Area Commission Zoning Committee this afternoon. Hopefully the St. Louis based developer is proposing something interesting. From the last meeting it seemed the developer was interested in utilizing some of the existing buildings. Also being reviewed is the 5th and Forsythe project (former 5th Ave school). I'm looking forward to seeing the concepts! https://universityarea.org/2019/05/june-3-2019-zoning-committee-agena/
  13. The Arts District project doesn't look very inspiring....
  14. Interesting project. That corner would be so much better if the high speed right turn lane from Main to the Rich St. connector was eliminated. That was constructed ahead of the opening of City Center Mall.
  15. This is why the parking lot is so big. It's a large medical facility.

  17. I suppose the most generous observations about The Urban on W. Norwich are that it increases density and that it's fairly well hidden from view.
  18. I think the OSU medical building is 3 or 4 stories hence the large parking lot. There’s no such thing as shared parking in the burbs.
  19. Looks like activity is picking up at the Third & Long (Schottenstein Development) project.
  20. ^I thought I saw a master plan somewhere that shows a building facing Spring the same size as the FBI building. Both buildings would share a parking lot. Hopefully plans have changed for the better.
  21. Crews are setting up a crane to remove the tower crane at the Moxy Hotel project.
  22. ^The history of this is very interesting to me. Our family purchased several cars from Avery Pontiac (now Dave Gill Chevy at Broad and Hamilton). I didn't know Avery started here. Hope the project is a success!
  23. Most apartment architecture in the US is currently Minecraftsman style or Fast Casual Architecture. Gay & High fits right in. https://www.curbed.com/2018/12/4/18125536/real-estate-modern-apartment-architecture
  24. ^I think DevolsDance is referring to the Hilton project that may begin construction this fall. The tower crane might not be installed until early next year - I imagine there will be mobilization, demo and foundation work before the tower crane is installed.
