Columbus: Harrison West / Dennison Place Developments and News
Pablo replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThis Preferred Living project is really taking shape. It's easily seen from the on-ramp from Goodale to 315 north. There are 3 story buildings along Michigan and 4 story on the river side. Not the best looking apartments but certainly adds to the density of Harrison West. Michigan Ave frontage: Perry St. looking south: Quality Pl looking southwest:

Columbus: Downtown: Canopy by Hilton
I would assume the metal panels can be installed using an aerial platform or telescopic boom lift. Much cheaper than a tower crane.

Columbus: Downtown: Canopy by Hilton
That pink bit will be covered at some point. I think that may be the last unfinished part of the facade.

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
Pablo replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^I didn't take a photo. There aren't any red panels installed except for the mock-up shown in the 330 Oak St. thread. I imagine they've been focused on interior work over winter.

Grandview Heights: Developments and News
Wagenbrenner is accustomed to building on re-mediated sites, it's their thing. (Harrison West, Jeffrey site, Columbus Coated Fabrics site...) As Toddguy mentioned, it comes down to the return the developer thinks they can get.

Grandview Heights: Developments and News
^You can build anything you want on landfills - it depends on how much you want to spend on foundations. I recall the Spectrum building on Olentangy River Road was built on a landfill using deep piers drilled through the garbage to bear on solid ground below.

Columbus: Linden Developments and News
Pablo replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYeah, I'm well aware of what the SN looked like. I still think this stretch of Cleveland Ave is just fine with a small setback. It's no different than the setback on Indianola between Arcadia and Weber. South of Weber Rd. Cleveland needs a 0' setback. North of Oakland Park Cleveland Ave is a suburban mess. I don't think 0' setbacks are a panacea for all urban ills.

Columbus: Linden Developments and News
Pablo replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^The Short North was never all "parking lot/suburban drive through" as you describe.
-
Columbus: Linden Developments and News
Pablo replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^The setback is consistent with existing buildings along this stretch of Cleveland Ave. The development would be inappropriate along Cleveland Ave. south of Weber Rd. but it fits in here.

Columbus: Clintonville Developments and News
Pablo replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^Actually, often on the Clintonville Discussion Forum on FB it's millennials who are insisting a farmer's market or community garden is the best use for this site. I don't think NIMBYism is age dependent. I'm 55 and I would love to see greater density along High St.
