  1. I think civic uses should be downtown - government offices, post office, library, etc. I think the school offices should stay put. There are a lot of parents, myself included, who need to visit the office for a variety of reasons.
  2. ^Looks like there's some sort of UFO issue downtown.
  3. ^The Dispatch version of this article mentions that in addition to the R/W parcel the City gave Ohio Health 5 acres of parkland to build the HQ. Talk about corporate welfare....
  4. Luxe Belle is topped off and exterior finish installation is underway.
  5. There may be movement on the former Clintonville Electric site. Below is the agenda for Thursday's Clintonville Area Commission meeting. At the bottom is an interesting items under New Business. It's crossed out, but there was to be a presentation for a concept plan for N High and W. North Broadway. The developer, Red Gate Partners, has been active in small retail projects in German Village. http://www.rejournals.com/getdoc/9c93cf08-a002-4e2b-8ce0-6d1db4330e3b/red-gate-partners-launches-in-columbus.aspx The architect, Mark Ford, was involved in the canceled plans for a 5 story mixed use building. I hope this is more than a one story retail center with an AT&T store and a Great Clips....
  6. Took a drive around Children's Hospital today. The Behavioral Health Pavilion is quite prominent on I-70. This is the view from Fulton: And along Livingston: The building on 18th at Mound is moving right along too:
  7. Exterior finishes are beginning to be applied to the 711 building.
  8. Dublin has posted cool pedestrian bridge construction progress photos here: http://bridgestreet.dublinohiousa.gov/pedestrian-bridge/
  9. ^It's a weird, isolated pocket of downtown surrounded by freeways and railroads. Even walking to Grandview Yard is an uncomfortable journey. I don't think any building design can get over these obstacles. I think the building is OK on it's own.
  10. ^The 6th floor is being constructed - it's nearly topped off. I still don't see how they will finish by August...
  11. Looks like the VV Commission didn't vote on the Kaufman project. Neighbors concerned about potential apartment complex in Victorian Village http://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/neighbors-concerned-about-potential-apartment-complex-in-victorian-village
  12. Another median is being constructed on Indianola next to Studio 35.
  13. The City is constructing a planted median on High St. between Orchard and Dunedin. The construction crew unearthed railroad ties from the old streetcar line. These photos are from a Facebook post on the Clintonville Discussion Forum.
  14. ^That lake has been there since the mid 2000's.
  15. My morning run took me by the Pavey project - it's coming out of the ground.

A post card my dad purchased when he moved to Columbus in 1959.
  17. The aluminum panels on the building at Long and 4th have been removed revealing nice stone and brickwork.
  18. I don't know....OSU is pretty good at deferred maintenance thereby forcing them to tear down buildings - Brown Hall, Lord Hall, Neil & 17th Building.... Hopefully they have a plan for this building.
  19. I don't think you're far off, more than likely a restaurant or event space. A rooftop bar was proposed on top of the 12 story tower. In March the IV Commission was concerned about that bar. Maybe that program item has changed? They were OK with the rooftop spaces on the new, lower addition. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2018/03/21/italian-village-commission-sees-updated-plans-for.html
  20. Moving right along:
  21. Four Short North Developments Opening this Summer https://www.columbusunderground.com/four-short-north-developments-opening-this-summer-bw1 ???
  22. ^Isn't it a 4 story building now? I would think that's too short for a tower crane.
  23. The City of Columbus High St. streetscape April 16 project update included the following regarding private project construction schedules. Demolition of the Grandveiw Mercantile building begins next week.
