  1. How the Obama Presidential Center could reshape Jackson Park https://chicago.curbed.com/2017/5/3/15532042/obama-presidential-center-chicago-jackson-park
  2. Took a walk around Hubbard Park Place today. The office portion of the building is about half way to its final height. Won't be long before the townhouses along Park and Hubbard begin to rise. Along Park St. Hubbard and Wall St. Wall St.
  3. To me it looks like agricultural fields.
  4. I found this on a Columbus history Facebook page - from 1939. That's Olentangy River Road across the bottom and West North Broadway leading to the Olentangy River bridge and Clintonville beyond. The Ohio Health site is just south of Broadway along the river.

  6. World’s largest Starbucks to replace Crate & Barrel on Mag Mile http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/worlds-largest-starbucks-to-replace-crate-barrel-on-mag-mile/
  7. ^Are the workers cursing at their cheap allen wrenches?
  8. I don't think anything will become of the lawn area next to the courthouse. It's county property and they are just land-banking the site. There's a patch of lawn on the north side of Mound between High and 3rd - the site of the former juvi. It's been undeveloped for 25 years or so.
  9. I had jury duty this week. Nice views of River South from the jury room, 16th floor cafeteria and the High St. pedestrian bridge:
  10. The 60 story Massey Tower under construction without taking a lane of Yonge St. When will Columbus contractors figure this out?
  11. Took a walk around 7th and High during lunch - moving right along:
  12. I've noticed smaller renovation projects away from the High St. construction zone. One of the things I loved about campus was the eclectic mix of retail - a lot of local mixed in with a few chains. Since High is becoming the home of national chains, where do the local retailers go? There's a nice node at Summit and Hudson and there are opportunities along both Summit and 4th. I noticed this rehab on 4th between 11th and Chittenden. Perhaps the former Sugar Shack location to the south will be renovated next?
  13. Then there's this: http://gizmodo.com/united-loses-800-million-in-value-after-passenger-drag-1794208511
  14. Slow going on this one. I noticed a collapse occurred a few weeks ago on the newly placed second floor in the second bay off of High St. Crews have since repaired the issue. Hope no one was hurt.
  15. Will the existing Chipotle stay? I assumed the one at 13th would be replaced by this one.
  16. 711 N. High looks to be mobilizing. Construction fence is up and heavy equipment is staged.
  17. This might be moving forward. I noticed a geotechnical firm on site today taking core samples.
  18. The Dixie International project is back. It's known as "The Ave." Demolition of the warehouse begins in June and construction starts in the fall. The developer presented the plans to the Clintonville Area Commission but asked for no variances. Synopsis of the presentation is posted here: http://www.clintonvilleareacommission.org/?p=864
  19. Further north the elevated slab is being poured at Edwards' Wellington project Excavation is underway at the "L" shaped building site at Lane and High
  20. I took a walk yesterday in the 3 block construction zone between 7th and 9th. Lots to see: 7th and High - this huge excavation looks deep enough for 3 levels of underground parking. The library is nearing completion. Brick veneer is underway at Highline at 9th. The Taco Bell site is now underconstruction - crews were preparing to work on foundations. Construction seen in the background is off of W 9th. Recent renovations and new build off of High on W 9th.
  21. Construction activity has picked up at Gay & High. A pedestrian tunnel is underway beneath W Gay St. and the crane arrived this week. The weather certainly isn't slowing anything down... I've mentioned it in other threads but watching this worker at the tip of the crane made me nauseous!
