  1. Crews were erecting the tower crane for Hubbard Perk Place this morning. IMG_1564 by paul2741, on Flickr
  2. The Edwards' Gay and High project is finally under construction - shoring work is ongoing. IMG_1560 by paul2741, on Flickr
  3. Demolition of the two small buildings is underway. Hopefully the Brunner project can transition right into construction after demo is complete.
  4. Looks like the Brunner may start construction soon. I noticed the parking lot has been coned off and construction fencing is stockpiled on site. This is a nice infill project.
  5. The Beta Theta Pi house at the southeast corner of 15th and Indianola has been demolished and will be rebuilt. https://ca.columbus.gov/CA/Cap/CapDetail.aspx?Module=Engineering&capID1=14LAC&capID2=00000&capID3=00900&agencyCode=COLUMBUS
  6. The low income housing between 8th and 9th has been demolished to make room for the continued construction of Edwards' Building 1. I spoke with a resident and they are being relocated to the Easton area until their new building on E. 9th is completed sometime this fall. Artistic photo:
  7. Campus Partners announced the 15th and High project. It looks pretty good. Funny that they're mimicking historic buildings with the new construction but demolishing the few historic buildings. The Edwards piece at 16th remains the weakest architecturally. http://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2016/06/17/first-look-ohio-state-unveils-dramatic-overhaul.html
  8. On a side note, too bad Edwards couldn't do something fun like this Kaufman project for their student housing project at 16th and High. Instead it will be a 6 story student barracks...
  9. I think there have only been two large proposals for Franklinton(while a lot of land acquisition has gone on)..this and the one that was sent back with the request for 'more height' and being directed more toward he river. The CU article says they want to break ground within six months, so hopefully things start moving quickly(unless there are some macro-economic things that happen of course). *Also they are moving ahead with the Vets thing nearby, and I don't know if the garage/park construction has started yet. There's also the smaller Warner Junction project that was proposed. It's been stalled for a couple of years now.
  10. Looks like they took every trendy design element from current architecture and landscape architecture and mixed it together in a pot. I does look interesting.
  11. Children's Hospital announces major expansion, behavioral health center: http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2016/06/10/childrens-expansion.html
  12. Construction of the Deco (formally the Olympic) is well underway. Elevator and stair towers are constructed and steel erection has begun.
  13. Nice! Lots of changes in store for this stretch of High St. I hope the architecture is on par with The Joseph - I love that building.
  14. The large big box store on the east end looks like it could be a Meijer. There's a pad on the west side of the building that looks like a garden center and truck docks on the east side. Similar layout as the Meijer on 23 in Powell.
  15. Dublin & Grandview is one ugly intersection - I don't think this will hurt it...
  16. Excavation for Hubbard Park Place is well underway.
  17. It would be like living next door to a Kenny Rogers Roaster...
  18. Good that the commission pushed back on the bridge. The mid block crossing was installed during the construction of Columbus Commons. Conduits are in place to install a pedestrian operated crossing signal - a lot cheaper than a bridge!
  19. I like the look of the building even with the shorter height. I am disappointed that the developer finds it necessary to build a pedestrian bridge across Rich St. to the existing parking garage.
  20. Looks good!
