EDIT - Deleted Link 3,563 pounds. It's in the ballpark of the Kia Niro (3,854 pounds) and the Hyundai Kona (3,715 pounds).
  2. The "Urban to Cleveland" rumors are out in full force lol
  3. Korpisalo had surgery on his knee to repair a torn meniscus and will be out 4-6 weeks.
  4. Seeing some Jim Harbaugh to Browns trolls having fun today lol.
  5. Wow, maybe they should have found a backup goalie so that Korpisalo didn't have to start 10 straight games or whatever it was.
  6. No one knows what targeting is. No one knows what a catch is. Still, the offense crapped the bed in four red zone trips. That's (mostly) not on the refs. Brutal schedule to finish - four top 15 teams and the Bucks lose with some questionable officiating to the defending champs. I'll feel better if LSU beats the living tar out of fake *** Dabo next week. After watching them scorch teams, I'm not sure Ohio State could have kept pace. Also, where did Chase Young go these last 3-4 games?

You provided two photos from 2018 and one article, and are now relying on "insiders" (who you don't cite) as your "evidence."

These...are two grainy pictures that show us nothing. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/29/sec-settles-charges-with-teslas-elon-musk-will-remain-as-ceo.html Nothing I can find about "hiding" cars anywhere. Still going to need a source.

I'm a bit peeved at this. I drive a hybrid, so the per-year fee for me is "only" an extra $100. But I'm outside the "renewal window" - in that sweet spot in March where I had to renew before the bill passed. I mean, I get *why* they're doing it but it doesn't make me any less frustrated lol.
  10. Yeah, I don't get it either.
  11. https://www.barrons.com/articles/6-chip-stocks-cheap-enough-to-buy-at-least-according-to-bofa-51576526378 Congress is set to pass the SECURE Act. Read the link for how it may impact you and your family. Some highlights: -no age limit restrictions on IRA contributions -required minimum withdrawals move up from age 70.5 to 72 -$10k of 529 plans can be used to pay off student debt -$5k from 401(k) plans can be withdrawn without penalty to help with the costs related to child birth or adoption (though that money would be taxable) -Eliminates the Stretch IRA -> for those who inherit a retirement savings plan, you can no longer stretch out the amount of time you had to draw down on the account over a lifetime. The limit would be ten years, which may come with tax ramifications.
  12. This is really reminding me a lot of the '14-'15 season where they iced an AHL squad for half their lineup.

Btw, Congress did *not* include a renewal/update to the EV federal tax credit. Guess that means Tesla is doomed next quarter! Look for absolutely no sales.
  14. DarkandStormy replied to seicer's post in a topic in General Transportation
The entire auto market is made up of 2-3% of these very vehicles - some even at higher price points. And this is with only a few years of mass produced EVs. Pretty hard to say definitely "there isn't much of a market" when we we're only a few years in.
  15. DarkandStormy replied to seicer's post in a topic in General Transportation
They work fine as primary cars with 225+ miles of range. No secondary car necessary. As evidenced, they're doing fine with a declining federal tax credit as well. The talking point that EVs aren't that environmentally friendly because of their power sources has been debunked in this thread. Last week, even, I think. EDIT - it seems you are basing the price of what consumers "should" pay, not what they're willing to pay. It kind of makes your whole argument irrelevant.
  16. DarkandStormy replied to seicer's post in a topic in General Transportation
Well $10k is more than $8k - a magical figure you have yet to explain why should be the threshold for all vehicle purchases.
  17. DarkandStormy replied to seicer's post in a topic in General Transportation
So nothing about 1) how Tesla has been selling vehicles despite their credit shrinking (the $7.5k credit is decidedly not in place for them or GM, not sure what fake news your peddling) or 2) any vehicles on the market for the $8k price you stated?
  18. Ok, here's ASCAP's updated list for 2018, instead of 2000-2009. https://www.ascap.com/press/2018/11/11-29-holiday-songs-2018 Notables that differ from the above chart: 1) "All I Want for Christmas Is You" (1994) 7) "Last Christmas" (1984) 22) "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" (1995) 23) "Underneath the Tree" (2013) 24) "Do They Know It's Christmas?" (1984) 25) "Wonderful Christmastime" (1979)
  19. Didn't Mariah Carey's song hit No. 1 this year?
  20. DarkandStormy replied to seicer's post in a topic in General Transportation
BOLD - personal anecdotes do not equal data. The federal tax credit for Tesla purchases this quarter is $1,875, 1/4 of the original $7,500 (unless Congress revises it retroactively). They're still selling the cars. I don't know what to tell you. Sales aren't even on a linear glidepath to zero as you suggest. Italicized - wtf? $8k price point? You are aware of new car prices for hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and ICE vehicles correct? There are no new cars, of any variety, on the market for $8k.

They have unveiled four new vehicles in the last 2+ years. None are in production. The "Roadster 2020" is going to need a new name at this point.
  22. DarkandStormy replied to seicer's post in a topic in General Transportation
Not explicitly. But part of the demo was that it is semi-indestructible. They swung a sledge hammer at it a couple times and showed that it didn't take any damage. They also talked about the "cold rolled steel." Without some test crashes first, it's hard to know for sure. But a lot of safety experts and advocates have expressed a lot of skepticism about that, to say nothing of the likely-terrible sight lines inside the vehicle.
  23. Amateurs. Those people need to learn how to chase those sign up bonuses and cancel cards with annual fees they aren't utilizing lol.

Also, re: Cybertruck - after reading various blog and news pieces about it, my "hot take" is that it won't get built like the one Tesla brought out on stage last month. Obviously, it's not going to get regulatory approval without side mirrors and probably actual headlights. I also think the "crumple zones" come into play and if it doesn't have any give in crash tests, why would the government allow basically a freaking tank on the streets? The Cybertruck is likely headed for middle duty classification, meaning it is comparable with the F-250 and not the F-150 Tesla/Musk keep comparing.
  25. Hyperloop doesn't exist. This isn't "news" other than it's more wasteful spending on a fanciful service that isn't likely to exist, and certainly not at the speeds they're claiming. Give it up for Musk, though. He's a great snake oil salesman.
