  3. "Benefits would justify $30 billion cost of network of magic fireplaces, study says." Btw, the study was conducted over 18 months and cost $1.3 million - what an insane thing to spend money on lmao @TBideon - not all of these feasibility studies of other rail/transport - just Hyperloop...how much have cities (and other entities) spent researching a product/service that doesn't exist?

There are rumblings that there is bipartisan support for extending the EV tax credit. Of course, I doubt they change it to make it a refundable credit, meaning only those folks with at least $7k in federal tax liability will benefit.
  5. Clemson has been scary good since their UNC scare - of course, they've played basically nobody. But Lawrence/Etienne rivals Fields/Dobbins for best backfield in America, imo. And our D hasn't been great the last 3-4 weeks. Clemson is also just a team that always has our number. Ohio State is the only program since 2005 outside of the southeast to win a national title. The list since '05 is striking: -Ohio State: 1 ('14) -LSU: 1 ('07) -Florida: 2 ('06, '08) -Florida State: 1 ('13) -Auburn: 1 ('10) -Alabama: 5 ('09, '11, '12, '15, '17) -Clemson: 2 ('16, '18)

Looks like they picked NYC anyway.

Is this like a free Consumer Reports type of site?
  9. Not looking to start a fight or anything like that, but GV is arguably the 3rd-most dense area of the city, behind only campus and the Short North. It's ~4x as dense as the Brewery District. I would like to not see the stupid Commission fight dumb battles like a 5-6 story hotel on a mostly empty lot at the very edge of the district, of course. But if we complain about density in other areas (or lack thereof) - and rightfully so - then I don't quite get the constant shade thrown to GV for not supporting 10+ story buildings in the area. Maybe I'm just in the minority on that, though. Anyway, I think that warehouse everyone keeps talking about is now a CrossFit gym. So it is getting some use currently, I believe. Thankfully there's an outside developer on this. I'm, perhaps unrealistically, not expecting a massive reduction in size on the project...yet.

Very normal person. "Hey, I think the poor and working classes need help and that healthcare should be a right for everyone." Toxic males - "YO WE WILL LITERALLY HUNT YOU ALL DOWN IF THIS HAPPENS."
  11. ^Kent State came in undefeated, if I'm not mistaken. So a far cry from a pushover game. Either way, the Basketbucks are looking good early. They made it look easy against their toughest test - Villanova - early in the season, but their biggest game yet comes next week against North Carolina.
  12. I just recall a lot of "Brooklyn New Yorkers priced out of the big city move to Columbus" type stories.
  13. Hmm...I wonder why there is (or was?) the narrative that so many people from the NYC area are moving to central Ohio.

Not sure what this has to do with this topic? Either way, 99% of people who think they need a pickup for the utility - and let's be honest, that's a very minimal number of overall pickup truck sales - would be better off just buying a used minivan and folding down/removing the back seats. Re: the bikes on the pickup truck - my wife and I throw our bikes on the back of a tiny Yaris on a bike rack. It accomplishes the same goal.

I'm being told by Tesla/Musk fanboys that it's not supposed to appeal to truck people? Also, when the lack of crumple zones is brought up, I'm told Musk is just very advanced and preparing for a "post crash society" due to autonomous vehicles. I'm not sure if they're serious.

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-cybertruck-unveiled-elon-musk-electric-pickup-truck/ Tesla unveiled their latest automobile last night - the "Cybertruck." The presentation didn't go too well, though, as Elon had Frans throw some metal balls at the windows to show how strong they are. He broke both the front and back window. As an observer, I'm not really sure who this is supposed to appeal to. Tesla fans, who likely already have a Tesla car? The space is going to be crowded in the next few years, with many manufacturers offering more traditional-looking trucks as BEVs. Wall Street hates it, as the TSLA stock is down 5+% today.
  17. These stories contain literally nothing about the feasibility of Hyperloop to actually exist as its founders keep portraying. What is the longest distance a Hyperloop car/vehicle has traveled at the speeds they keep claiming?
  18. I guess he meant that literally? He was fined for punching Delanie Walker. https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2019/09/myles-garrett-will-appeal-if-fined-wont-lose-his-cool-again-and-well-see-if-he-was-right-about-gregg-williams-2-moves-limit.html You can ask Trevor Siemian about his roughing the passer/late hit penalties, especially because Siemian isn't able to play this season due to one of those hits.
  19. Draft a dirty a** player, live with the consequences when he does dirty a** things.
