https://www.fleetcarma.com/electric-vehicles-lower-maintenance-costs/ https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S030626191731526X?via%3Dihub Average maintenance costs in a given year could be ~$100 more expensive with an ICE vehicle than an EV. And that probably gets more drastic the longer you keep your vehicle given some of the bigger ticket items with ICE vehicles that come around 100k/125k miles.

That's not what we're talking about. A Ford Focus has a bunch of "recommended" maintenance - changing your oil, for example. At 100k, you're supposed to replace the spark plugs and potentially timing belts, things you don't have to do with an EV (same for the oil, obviously). https://www.carcomplaints.com/worst_vehicles/?goto=Worst+Vehicles Also a 2012 Ford Focus is apparently one of the worst vehicles on the market.

https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/US-To-Release-11-Million-Barrels-From-Strategic-Petroleum-Reserves.html The release of 11 million barrels has probably been a driver in recent gas prices being down. They were released in October and November.

The U.S. government was holding huge reserves of oil due to the threat of oil scarcity. They're releasing them because 1) we're drilling everywhere pretty much and 2) the anticipated demand for it is declining.

I have a 2016 vehicle and am planning on enjoying a few years of no car payments before I switch to an EV, probably in that 2024-2026 window, depending on maintenance. If I remember, you have a Tesla now? I've heard the recommended maintenance is one thing to refill every 2 years and something else every 4 years. If that's the case that's a ridiculous low maintenance vehicle.

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4225153-evs-oil-ice-impact-2023-beyond Interesting video/discussion on the article linked above projecting the decline of ICE vehicles pretty dramatically within a decade.
  7. Bitcoin is now trading below $3,500, down almost 83% from its all-time high.
  8. Bill Belichik still costing Cleveland all these years later.

^Who the heck approved those? Look at some of the other teams. The Cavs got some pretty bad jerseys out of this.

  12. Urban Meyer is retiring after the Rose Bowl. Ryan Day will take over as head coach. Presser coming at 2:00.
  13. Such a shame we waste the best QB in Big Ten history and the best offense in school history (or close to it) because of a historically bad defense.
  14. https://www.landgrantholyland.com/2018/11/30/18119825/ohio-state-football-news-ryan-day-reportedly-staying-raise-unofficial-succession-plan?utm_campaign=landgrantholyland&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter This is from "Football Scoop" so read it skeptically, but supposedly Ryan Day is line for a raise next season and will stick around. He's also supposedly agreed - either formally or informally - to be Urban's predecessor. Meyer supposedly is uncertain on his coaching future, going so far as to say next season would be his last. Again, all speculation right now.
  15. It really just takes OSU winning and either Oklahoma losing OR Clemson losing (never sleep on the Pitt upset). I think even if Oklahoma wins ugly, they would "avenge" their only loss of the season - to a team much better than Purdue. Bama and Notre Dame are locks, imo. Clemson is obviously in if they win, but *probably* out if they lose (depending on the rest of the games). So it's a narrow chance, but I think there's still a realistic shot Ohio State gets in. Really just need Texas or Pitt to do the thing.
  16. https://buckeyewire.com/2018/11/26/ohio-state-basketball-no-1-in-new-net-rankings/ They were just ranked #1 too!
  17. I mean...Texas passed a law that cities in their state had to comply with 287(g). It was more or less upheld - https://nextcity.org/daily/entry/texas-cities-exploring-creative-ways-to-protect-residents-from-deportation
  18. ...and lost their first game.
  19. Are you saying Republicans are for "limited government" unless said government isn't doing (or not doing) exactly what they want? At least in positive news, Kroger is committing to eliminating plastic bags by 2025. Even the Republicans can't force them to not make that decision. As the Cincinnati.com story notes, only two cities in Ohio have even considered a plastic bag fee. I mean, for all the issues Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River have had, you'd think we should let them implement a $0.05 or $0.10 fee on plastic bags if those cities and towns think it will help with the pollution.
  20. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2018/11/28/ohio-lawmakers-want-stop-cities-hiking-prices-plastic-bags/2126253002/ Ohio lawmakers are trying to infringe on cities and townships that may want to add a plastic bag fee in the future. To date, there is no local law charging extra for plastic bag use.
  21. I don't remember last year all that well in terms of game by game, but didn't OSU need one upset last year to get in and got none? It also hurt them that Bama lost to Auburn, letting Auburn go on to lose to Georgia in the SEC title game. If Bama would have won out, OSU would have been in as well.
  22. Roll Tide Hook em Go Bucks Ohio State in if those three prevail. You can also throw in a Go Panthers for good measure.
  23. Of course they are (and so is Bama unless they somehow lose 70-0 on Saturday) - I was just playing around with the simulator here - https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2018-college-football-predictions/?ex_cid=rrpromo
  24. If OSU dominates Northwestern, that's two common opponents with ND and OSU would have "better" wins against them. "Conference champion" is also a factor they consider - though how much they weight that no one knows.
  25. I'm trying to imagine what would happen if Bama wins, Clemson loses, Oklahoma loses, and Ohio State loses - all very unlikely, of course. 1) Bama 2) ND 3)….404 file not found I guess UCF??? Too bad about their QB, though. 4) Pick between Texas and Georgia? EDIT - Fwiw, on 538's predictor, if you play out the likely scenarios happening - Bama, Clemson, OSU, and OU winning, they basically have ND, Oklahoma, and OSU all around ~70% chance of making it. Of course, only two would.
