That's cute that you think the theme of the presser was "I'm sorry" / "I messed up." The rest of us live in reality where that didn't happen.

I'm fairly certain they released the report to the press immediately before the press conference. No, they released the 23-page summary after the press conference was over.

They suspended Urban Meyer (and Gene Smith - sort of) fewer games than Pryor, Posey, etc. got for trading in gold pants and jerseys for tattoos.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Zach Smith spent $600 at a strip club on a recruiting visit (with another OSU assistant coach - Tom Herman - and an unnamed high school coach). Urban didn't fire him. He was late to team meetings and practices. He missed recruiting visits. Urban didn't fire him. Urban's "life coach" for the team apparently spoke to Courtney Smith and persuaded her not to press charges against Zach. Urban apparently did not disclose Zach Smith's 2009 arrest to Gene Smith upon the hiring of Zach Smith. There were multiple fireable offenses made by Zach Smith during his tenure. Urban only threatened with the "one more time and you're fired" line for a guy already on a second chance. Both Urban and Gene whitewashed evidence after McMurphy's report dropped. There are no heroes in this story.

Tough question = Did Courtney Smith want to get revenge on Urban Meyer because he fired her ex-husband, the man who she claimed had abused her for years, because that would mean potentially smaller alimony and child support payments? That's the question you "have to be willing to ask?" Good Lord, you've lost it man.

Ah yes, this line of thinking will certainly go a long way in proving that OSU fans aren't a crazed cult who value winning above all else.

I don't really care about the credibility of Courtney Smith. Zach Smith should have been fired for spending a recruiting trip at a strip club, missing recruiting visits, being late to practices and team meeting multiple times. Urban gave him way too long of a leash. Zach Smith should never have been hired, should have been fired in 2015, and both Urban and Gene knew so. They then went to great lengths to not fire him and failed to report multiple incidents to the Compliance Department.

Decision Day. Presser expected this afternoon. Meyer has been in the same building as the BoT since earlier this morning. Read the tea leaves as you will.

Electric Scooter Sharing
It seems like quite a bit of effort to round up scooters for the night and then you have to get them all set up in the morning by 7 am (for Bird at least, not sure if Lime operates differently). Unless you live in an area with a lot of scooters and don't have to spend a bunch of time chasing them down in your car at night, it seems like a minimal payoff for the time and effort. Similar to Lyft/Uber driving. Yeah...you're making *some* money but is it worth the trade off? For some people, yes. For others, no.

Why even come out with a timeline if it's really an indefinite thing? Plus, Drake's a bit disingenuous - they have a $500k budget. They'll finish when it's finished...but they'll also finish if they run out of money, I presume.

At full speed on flat land on the Lime, I go 16-17 mph. Down any slight Hill and I can hit 20 mph.

Electric Scooter Sharing
I live ~1 mile from work. I have many options to get to work - bus, bike, walk, park, scooter. Parking is the most expensive, but on days I had doctor's appointments or whatnot either before or after work it was what I had to do. But the scooters are a great replacement on those days I have to get in or out quickly. So if I have a flight at 5:30, I could pay ~$8 to park for the day, or I could pay ~$2 to take a scooter and be home in 5-6 minutes. I've also taken one around 5:30 when a storm was coming in ~10 minutes. I would have been caught in the rain had I walked for 20 minutes instead. Those are just a couple examples. Other people may use them for other purposes.

Bird scooters legal on both sidewalks and streets in Columbus Police in Columbus say Bird scooters are allowed to be used on both sidewalks and streets in the City of Columbus. According to a directive from Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein: "Because of the lack of clarity in the law surrounding how these types of scooters should be regulated in sidewalk and roadway usage, we have instructed the Division of Police that they are allowed to be ridden on both. This does not mean, however, that scooters can be ridden recklessly, while impaired, or in violation of other laws. We look forward to offering guidance to Council and the Administration as they continue to determine how these scooters should be regulated." https://www.nbc4i.com/news/local-news/bird-scooters-legal-on-both-sidewalks-and-streets-in-columbus/1366597872

The latest twists in the Zach Smith / Urban saga are that Tom Herman was the source who tipped off Brett McMurphy (both have denied it) AND that Zach Smith was arrested in 2013 for OVI, which went previously unreported. There is some other family drama being aired via Facebook as well. Crazy that the wildest college football story of the year is all being reported (and refuted) via Facebook. 2018 is weird.
