The Ohio State University Buckeyes Basketball Discussion
^Seeing all those names still gives me heartburn over 2011. And Aaron Craft could never get out of the NBA D-League (or G League now?) but Dellavedova, a sub 40% shooter, is still holding down a roster spot making $9.5m a year.

Speaking of the Bolt - https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/chevrolet-bolt-ev-production-increase/ I assume the Bolt is an actual EV unlike the plug-in hybrid Volt?

Electric Cars
I don't have a driveway currently and wondered how this would work if I were to get an EV. I'm in a fairly high pedestrian area but on a side street. Guess there'd be the risk someone could just come by and unplug it?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
There are reports that ZERO other NBA teams offered him a contract (outside of some conflicting reports that New Orleans wanted him back and offered him a better deal than the MLE). If he wanted out of New Orleans, and his only offer was Golden State... The center position doesn't really matter in Golden State though. As long as they have KD and Curry....you could bring Shaq out of retirement and start him at center for 50 games and they'll still win a bunch of games. Cousins is a perennial 25 and 12 center who will probably see his numbers drop to something like 19 and 10. He doesn't care. He gets to coast for a year to a ring and if he stays healthy, he'll cash in on a big paycheck in 2019. 2018-2019 is over. It's all about setting up moves for 2019 and 2020. LeBron needs someone like Kawhi to join him. Who knows, he may even get Cousins or AD to join him as well. Until an equally absurd super team of 4+ All-Stars is formed, Golden State will run the league. They do have looming contract questions when Thompson and Green finally come up and their market value is $30+ million. They're making sub-$20m now. Maybe KD "goes home" a la LeBron after one more title as well. The NBA either needs a hard cap (like the NHL) OR they need to allow each team to offer one SUPER RIDICULOUS MAX contract outside of the cap. LA could pay LeBron $80m/season. Golden State could offer KD $75m. Etc. That way, you roughly spread the 30 or so best players throughout the league. The NBAPA will never go for that, of course. They want the cap in place so the bottom half of players in the league can get good money. But you need one of those two (or both) measures in place. It's just absurd. I will watch approximately zero NBA games next season.

Would a non-Warriors NBA team even have a chance against the Warriors? Lillard Kawhi Leonard LeBron LaMarcus Aldridge Anthony Davis I mean...you can make it Warriors vs the rest of the NBA and the Warriors are probably favored.

L.A. (right now) makes no sense from a basketball perspective. The teams that made the most sense on the court were (in no order) Boston, Philly, Houston, San Antonio, Golden State (lol jk), maybe Utah or New Orleans. So obviously this wasn't entirely a basketball move. LeBron obviously cares about his brand, entertainment company, etc, too. I can't wait for L.A. to be the biggest headache in...well, I don't know, the history of the NBA maybe? LeBron + Lavar Ball + DeMarcus Cousins = lolololol. Just seems like such a weird move if you remove the fact that it's *The Lakers.* They're a terrible 3 point shooting team and LeBron needs 3 point shooters around him. If they can land Cousins and somehow manage to trade for Leonard...that's a start. But still, in the West it's: -Golden State -Houston -OKC -Everyone else LeBron only has 3, maybe 4 years left at a super high competitive level. He's bound to waste at least one year (maybe even two years) waiting for the Lakers to build a team around him.

Stand Up Republic: Ohio
I asked about national vs. state because obviously the budget process is very different. There are no fiscal conservatives in Washington at the moment. So my input may vary at the state level vs. national level since the parameters are different. At the state level, I'm very concerned about economic inequality (I guess nationally as well). I don't have any great ideas - would love to read up on some proposals or policies in other states that have worked. It's very pronounced in Ohio when you have large cities, several of which seem to be thriving, at least for the top 15-20% (or pick a number), but what are the job and economic opportunities for, say, the southeastern quadrant of the state? How do we help them? How do we make sure they have opportunities to provide for their families and live a fulfilling life? I realize "fulfilling life" is subjective, but I really do struggle with how do we make sure they also have access to good, decent jobs. Thanks for keeping us up to date on this. I hope it goes well for you moving forward.

Don't know how much input you want here, but you would you acknowledge that there are other ways to a balanced budget besides trickle down economics (cut cut cut taxes) and cutting social spending? Don't know if you want input at the state level, national level, or both. I'm all for fiscal responsibility, but I have a feeling that if the solution is to cut taxes (again) and cut funding for social programs, education, etc. then I won't like that particular implementation.

2018 Gubernatorial Election
This type of comment also serves as an example of what I'm talking about when I say "low road." It's something I'd expect in the Trump thread, but you guys seem to have been completely overcome by this type of hateful divisiveness. I've never voted a straight ticket before, but if this type of rhetoric is going to become the norm it might drive we towards that. It was a sarcastic comment about how you make fun of liberal "safe spaces" on campuses and the left being too sensitive.
