  1. Really wish there was a better option than Kizer. It's going to be tough for him if he's getting thrown int he fire from Day 1. He's better suited to be the starter in 2018 or 2019 with a bit better roster around him and some learning experience as the backup. Oh well, just going to be another young QB thrown in there too soon.
  2. ^^The downtown commission drawing a line in the sand over a one-story LED board is disheartening. So many projects end up dying because of the commission and their lack of accepting some "progressive" projects. I fear this might be another one based on their comments.

They didn't HAVE to trade him though. Oh well. 2016 stats: Thomas: 28.9 PPG 5.9 APG 37.9% from 3 Irving: 25.2 PPG 5.8 APG 40% from 3

  7. So White Castle is obviously working with Elford on this project, but seeing the proposal I wish they would have just contracted with Kaufman who did the 600 Goodale project across the street.
  8. I was torn on the video screen portion. It seemed unique and much better than looking at levels upon levels of parking or plain ads. I would have liked to see multiple stories stay if it was only going to be on one side, or a full wrap-around if it was only going to be one story. Either way, it's a very minimal portion of the project now. Hope it gets final approval!

I can only tell you to view photos/videos from the path of totality where the full effect was felt. We had about 86% coverage in Columbus, though clouds rolled through around the "peak" time. It was still noticeably darker. That said, 14% (or whatever your inverse percentage is) of the sun was still shining on us, so it was never going to be totally "dark" like it was in the path of totality. It was still a pretty rare event for the U.S. It was very cool, even at 86%, to see it through the special glasses. Time to gear up for 2024 when much of Ohio will see a total eclipse!

^I...I don't think you understand how eclipses work lol.
  11. ^^Hoooooly crap that looks terrible. Suburban mixed-use sites like Grandview Yard and the Bridge Street Project put it to shame. Cut it up and start over, White Castle.

A one year update from CU with an interview with Michael Stevens, Chief Innovation Officer, and Brandi Braun, Assistant Director for the Columbus Department of Public Service. http://www.columbusunderground.com/what-to-expect-from-smart-columbus-in-year-two-bw1
  13. ^In about an undeveloped area inside the outerbelt that you can find. Wonder why the change. I can almost guarantee attendance will struggle when they're asking $50/day or $90/two days and it's not anywhere close to the downtown area. It was a cool concept but they've stumbled with implementing it every year. I am torn between wanting to see it succeed (if it's possible) or just ending it altogether.

Not sure if this has been posted before. Spitters. WTF? Unless you're sick or have something in your mouth, why are you spitting?? Everyone else deals with their saliva just fine. I have a couple co-workers who spit 3-4 times while they are in the bathroom...EVERY. DAMN. TIME. What are you doing with your saliva when you're not in here, bros?? I sit right by you, I know you're not spitting. Are you saving your saliva every hour or two to then go deposit in the urinal?? I DON'T UNDERSTAND. Just be a normal human being and stop spitting for no reason. (I'm guessing it dates back out of habit to the glory days of high school baseball or something dumb like that.)

  18. http://www.columbusunderground.com/experience-columbus-identifies-sites-for-hotel-expansion-by-convention-center-bw1 ^This article has several proposals from Experience Columbus re: northern edge of the A.D.
  19. Pen West is near by, but more to the west. I put together a map that may help visualize the area better. I've included other outlines and projects/proposals to have a better understanding of how the area is filling out. I'm sure I'm missing other proposals/projects, but here's what I have. Ah, thank you. That map really puts into perspective just how far away some of the proposed projects are from the Arena District / Short North. I think the gravel lots across from Flats on Vine may be part of a proposal for in-fill -> either with or in addition to the North Market Tower. Can't remember who put that plan out there. Really that whole area west of School Street could use some help - nothing big I wouldn't think but it just seems misfit for the area now. It'll probably end up being a parking garage and some apartments/condos.
  20. How does this impact / integrate with the previously proposed Pen West development? I know Borror is out on that project - was that this area? http://www.columbusunderground.com/plans-unveiled-for-new-pedestrian-bridge-bw1 http://www.columbusunderground.com/penn-west-development-bw1
  21. It's a really weird area with hard boundaries like the river and I-670 coming into play. There's also unlikely to be access to Vine Street unless it connects to the White Castle site. Add to that you've got several rail lines in the way, I mean, that will be future stops on an intra-city rail line, right? Hopefully they can take some feedback and update it before moving forward.

  25. I guess that's true IF you are making exactly the median income ($51k as of the article writing in 2015) and IF you are only saving 5% and IF you spend $2k annually on dogs. https://www.moneyunder30.com/the-true-cost-of-pet-ownership We have a dog and spend much less than the $695 figure referenced as the average annual expenses of owning a dog. It's probably $400 or even a bit less. So yeah, I guess if you want to make up figures to fit your narrative and conclusion, you can just say, "$2,000 annually" even though that's not remotely close to the average people spend.
