The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Hard to imagine the Buckeyes missing the playoffs if they win out, regardless of what happens with Penn State the rest of the way. They could potentially have 3 top ten wins, a fluke loss to a top 6-7 team and another win over a top 25 team. I see it as Alabama (unless they somehow lose to Auburn), Ohio State/Michigan winner, Big Ten winner if it's Wisconsin v.s. Penn State, and Clemson if they win the ACC.

NHL: General News & Discussion
Their current arena is 13 years old (3 years younger than Nationwide) and they want to build a new one?? Who would pay for it? Oh...taxpayers. What a joke. Relocate the Coyotes.

Columbus Blue Jackets Discussion
In an odd scheduling quirk, the Jackets are the last team in the league to play a divisional game - they host Washington tonight. The CBJ have played the fewest games, but are right there on pace in contention for a Wild Card spot.

So...it's going to be a long year. Again. 6 point win over some school called North Carolina Central.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
OSU should be #5 in the CFP rankings tomorrow which makes things easy. Beat Michigan and jump up to #4 (assuming the road games @ Maryland and Sparty (LOL) are typical 38-10 snoozers). Then, just gotta beat the Badgers again and you're into the playoffs. Sounds simple, but lots can happen of course.

The fact that you are even asking this question (in a serious manner, I assume) shows your naivety.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Wonder if Napoli would take a pay cut to stay? If not, who do they target? Not sure what's going to happen with Brantley, but could they stick him (or another OF, maybe one with a bad arm) at 1B? Do you think they'll keep Gomes and Perez? I believe Gomes is locked up longer, but Perez really proved himself in the postseason.

They need to make the switch to the block C full-time, across the board. None of this "throw back" or "alternate" crap.

World Series 2016
Ditto for me. I didn't watch a single inning of the regular season. For me, the Indians were the first pro team I followed (via my parents allegiances). I cried when I didn't get to go to the '95 series (school night was the excuse - what a joke lol) and then two years later, still in school, I was old enough to go to the 14-11 game. Also got to see Sandy Alomar win the ASG MVP that year. Baseball was really the first sport I played (two non-athletic seasons of soccer notwithstanding) and the Indians were my first professional sports team to follow and love. That started to dissipate in the early 2000's as basically the entire '90s teams outside of Omar signed bigger contracts or got traded. I got more involved with other sports and music and I didn't have the time once I jot a job to follow the regular seasons in the summer. Games became boring to me on TV - they probably still are in the regular season if I'm being honest. I paid enough attention in '07 and was of course crushed when they blew a 3-1 lead (damn these 3-1 leads!!). I saw most of the big market teams dominating, complaining that Cleveland could never sign these $100m+ deals and would always lose guys like Ramirez, CC, Lee, etc. That may still be true, who knows. But I think they've got a window now. They have a lot of young talent locked in for the next 2-3 years. They'll need to spend on Napoli or find a replacement for him. They *should* get Brantley back which will help the outfield out. They need to figure out Bauer or if Merritt can take his spot in the rotation. This feels a bit like the Cavs from '15 to '16. They made a couple moves that altered their identity, got to the Finals, but ultimately injuries derailed their efforts. With Carasco, Brantley, and Salazar healthy next season, I could see them getting back - just like the Cavs did with Kyrie and K Love. Also...the Royals lost in 2014 by a run at home in game 7, but rebounded to take the WS last season. Sometimes, it takes losing in that final game to fuel you through the next season. The Cavs did it last year. Before them, the Spurs used the Finals as motivation to beat the Heat the following year. LeBron lost to the Mavs with the Heat and then came back the following year. It hurts because you just never know how many times you'll get to play in a World Series. It took the franchise 19 years to get back. I'll definitely be watching more next season and a buddy and I are even talking about splitting a quarter-season pack (it's hard being 2 hours away to commit to that many games, though).

Same formula as several seasons ago...ride a hot Bobrovsky. The offense is pretty stagnant right now when not on the power play. But hey...above .500!

Seeing that Game 7 drew a 28.2 overnight rating? Not sure if that's accurate, but wow that's huge if true. Other reports have it at 25.2 with 40 share.

World Series 2016
It's over. Teams up 3-1 that go to Game 7 usually end up losing. The Cubs bats have gotten loose and the best team in baseball has woken up. The Indians need a herculean effort from Kluber/Miller just to stay close. I don't know why Naquin and Chisenhall are still playing. They can't hit and now can't field. Put in Guyer and Davis. Napoli - $16m?? What a joke. No show in the postseason hitting .191 with 1 HR. The offense has stalled out and now the Cubs have figured out the pitching.

World Series 2016
Come on. The Cubs have 2 W's over head-case Bauer. They haven't beaten a non-Bauer pitcher yet in this series. Tribe tonight 5-2. Tomlin will go 4 innings, and hopefully into the 5th a bit before Miller takes over for 2-3 innings with Allen shutting it down.
