  1. Toledo City Council voted last night to spend $90,000 to restore lights on the Anthony Wayne Bridge in expectation of visitors in town next year to see the new I-280 bridge two miles downstream. Boy, if there was ever a perfect example of money best spent elsewere that was it.
  2. I will be graduating from college with a degree in Information Systems in a couple years, and I really would prefer to remain in Ohio. Yet, I know that after I graduate, I will have a very difficult time finding an IS job in northern Ohio. My dad has even said on occasion that he wants to move to the South where he can make a better living. I really wish our state government would do more to try and keep people in the state, so that they aren't forced to move elsewere. Nevertheless, I will likely remain in Ohio. I really do think that we should begin to move away from industry (though not completely), and more towards high tech jobs. It just doesn't seem like creating more industry related jobs is plausible.
  3. 146 Paradise Blvd $19,500 (there was one that was $17,000 but there was no photo) 2 Bed, 2 Bath 1300 BELLEAIR AVE. $2,500,000 7 Bed, 9 Bath 0.96 Acres I actually live within a couple minutes walking distance of that mansion, its right on the lake too. However, its the only mansion in the area as most of the homes in that area are middle to lower middle class. There are actually mobile homes just down the road from it. There are a few nicer houses a little to the east and west though.

Theres a nice view of Cleveland and its surrounding suburbs atop a hill in Chapin Forest in Kirtland especially on a clear day. You have to do some hiking to get their though. I like how you can see Toledo's skyline from the turnpike. Seeing One Seagate rise out of all those flat fields is pretty nice. Finally, at night you can see Cedar Point's "skyline" from the Rt. 2 bridge over Sandusky Bay (I suggest taking the bridge atleast once as the view of Sandusky bay is great). I always look for it on my frequent trips between Cleveland, and Toledo.
  5. I could see the Cleveland vs. Columbus thing coming from a mile away. Anyways, just for the sake of getting the statistics right (i'm very picky about those kinds of things), I will post the corect metro area populations for Columbus, and Cleveland. Columbus-Marion-Chillicothe Metro Area Population 1,920,601 Cleveland-Akron-Elyria Metro Area Population 2,942,303
  6. Willoughby, Chardon, Painesville, and Ashtabula (if it counts as a suburb) are probably the best in the Northeastern suburbs. Willoughby, and Chardon's downtown have a historic feel to them, while Painesville, and Ashtabula's downtown have a more urban feel.
  7. Cleveland is 78 Sq Mi, and Toledo is 81 Sq Mi. Columbus is....210 Sq Mi
