  1. Can't wait for this project to get started!
  2. I was clicking around this area on Google Maps yesterday and I was pretty impressed with the amount of suburban neighborhoods that are currently under construction. I know downtown and the Short North get most of the attention in terms of residential construction, but the amount of homes being built in Delaware County is pretty significant. It won't be long until the land between the Scioto River and Alum Creek is one giant suburb between Delaware and 270.
  3. The actual units look pretty nice based on the pictures, and the large windows will be nice I'm sure. The outside is atrocious though.
  4. Has anyone been past this site recently? Has construction started?
  5. Starting in June Delta will offer direct flights between Columbus and Salt Lake City. This will bring the Delta's total nonstop destinations from Columbus to 13. https://www.10tv.com/article/delta-offer-nonstop-flights-between-columbus-and-salt-lake-city
  6. Wow! This design looks great in my opinion. Hopefully they can keep things on track and begin construction next summer as they stated in the article.
  7. I actually think 250 is a pretty decent looking building and I think they did a good job with an awkward plot of land. 80 Commons just looks so bad though. The only half decent portion is the portion that faces the park. That's an interesting point about the balconies. They definitely look awkward from a distance. I haven't been past their Gravity project in at least a month, but last time I drove by that, it was actually looking pretty good.
  8. If only the outside of the building looked as nice as the inside....
  9. I agree with you about 250 High. They did really will with that awkward lot. To your point about the smaller LC apartments, they definitely look small and will look even smaller with Millennial Tower, but from the street I think they look great.
  10. Although Columbus lost its daily Southwest flight to Oakland, it has now added a daily flight to SFO on United. Round trip tickets will start at $400. https://www.dispatch.com/news/20181015/columbus-lands-nonstop-united-airlines-flight-to-san-francisco
  11. Official announcement could be coming today....
  12. Let's just say there will be a connection to another Ohio pro sports team....
  13. Very good news will likely be coming fairly soon regarding the saving of the Crew. Stay tuned.
  14. There is a tiny sliver of a surface lot next to the Greystone Apartments. I will be interested to see if anything ever gets built there. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9788161,-83.0038624,3a,75y,293.62h,92.48t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s_viBKtt_mdVda082kOrVPg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  15. Oh that's right, I completely forgot about that. I can't keep track of all of the developments happening right now.
  16. There are still a few spots that need to be developed before it's truly built out. This is strip mall will desperately needs to be redeveloped: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9807521,-83.0042504,3a,62.6y,303.98h,89.41t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1slVtdTdE5ylRRAZE-i1Lmqw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en Then, there is this whole block that is a possibility: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.983157,-83.0047136,3a,75y,278.56h,90.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sXhE5ZsUVXdzBUAQlDQ249A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en Here's another potential spot: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9842746,-83.0049344,3a,75y,279.07h,89.18t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s5FCgbN6NCGu2x0l7E75uXA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en This spot has a lot of potential due to it's size: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9850497,-83.0050857,3a,75y,243.06h,80.64t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sl98_C_b1-xTULJRpLXdscQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en Other than those spots, there isn't much more that can be developed without tearing down historical buildings. The good news is development is already starting to spread east into Italian Village.
  17. I was actually thinking the same exact thing. I'm not sure if there are height restrictions for this specific area but something around 8-10 stories could also give you some pretty cool views of downtown.
  18. They really seem to be mixtures of high quality material, design, and architecture mixed in with cheap amateurish stuff all being carried out in a seemingly unorganized manner.
  19. Isn't there supposed to be a swimming pool in that courtyard?
  20. So I'm kind of getting the feeling that this is the design they are going with....is that correct?
  21. Agreed. It also looks to be only about 25-stories. This rendering actually looks like one of the proposals that was not chosen.
  22. Interesting...thanks for posting! This is obviously completely different than the rendering that was recently uncovered on the project's website and subsequently removed. I wish we could just figure out exactly what's happening and then get this project underway.
  23. Is there a development planned for the vacant lot across the street from this project?
  24. Hopefully we can get another building of at least 8-stories, maybe a second hotel, to get some variation in height here. Regardless, it's great to see how quick they getting this thing built out and still managing to make it look pretty good.
  25. Cleveland isn't very welcoming to immigrants but some of its suburbs are, like my city of Lakewood. Just the number of Bhutanese and Nepalese are quite evident in Lakewood's east-end neighborhoods and have been for several years. We had a Nepalese grocery store down the street but they closed and are looking for a new location. My wife's friend from Ukraine lived in a building near the West 117th station that was like the United Nations. It seemed like the only language rarely spoken there was English. This sounds like the Walmart at Easton in Columbus. I'm pretty sure I've been the only English speaking native born American in the store on multiple occasions.
