Yep, that was my assumption. I would assume they are only allowed to extend so far above their last anchor point. Do you know much taller the crane will grow from this point?

Many other businesses in the area could have easily matched or one-upped Lower, but none felt the need to.

Columbus: Downtown: Hilton Columbus Downtown Tower II
Here's the before and after from the stadium construction cam. If this tower is going ~100' taller than the Hyatt next door, I think we might see one more jump in a couple months.

The crane jump appears to be complete. I wonder if another jump will be necessary before the tower tops out. It's hard to tell from this angle. It also looks like they've anchored it to the building.

Here's a rundown of various sponsorships throughout the league. It can be difficult to get teams to disclose details, so it's very spotty in terms of what details are available for each team. The Crew line up fairly well, especially considering the business metrics were supposedly not feasible according Precourt and Garber. https://www.sportspromedia.com/analysis/mls-2021-jersey-sleeve-sponsor-national-local-tv-rights-partners

Yep. Here's what Lower CEO Dan Snyder said about the need for Lower to get their name out there and how this sponsorship would be part of that effort. “Clearly, in order for us to compete against SoFi or Rocket (Mortgage), we have to get our brand out front and center,” Snyder said. “We’ve grown exponentially. We’ve (generated) hundreds of millions in revenue. To go to the next level, one day we see ourselves going public.” The first step, he said is “owning the local market.” He has a goal of capturing 10% of the Columbus homebuying market. But he said, for that to happen, “we’ve got to get our brand out there.” https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/06/15/lower-profile-crew-stadium.html

It's in the $3-4M/year range, which is very good for an MLS team, especially one in mid-sized market. Apparently KC's stadium sponsorship deal is only ~$500k/year. I think SJ's is about $2M/year.

The jump component (whatever it’s called) was moved up to the top of the crane today. I believe the crane actually lifts each new section up to the component and pulls it into the component. Before the section is lifted up hydraulics will lift the section of crane above the jump component to create a gap for the new section.

So the webpage was created a month ago, but the study was done last year? I'm holding out hope that this project will actually happen, so I'll use the fact that they just created this webpage as a promising sign, lol. Also, this looks cool. https://www.cbusarch.com/project/ice-haus-concept/

Groveport: Developments and News
cbussoccer replied to ColDayMan's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionToday, Groveport announced some restaurants who will be occupying some of the storefronts in these two buildings. https://www.instagram.com/p/CQJUKRolTDc/ The City of Groveport is thrilled to announce the names of the new businesses who will be occupying the two new buildings on Main Street that are part of the City’s “1847 Main” downtown redevelopment project. Going into the “Rarey’s Port” building at the corner of Main and Front next to Ace Hardware will be Delaney’s Diner (delaneysdiner.com). Delaney’s will be open for breakfast, brunch and lunch 7 days a week, 6:30-2:30 M-F and 7:00-3:00 Saturday and Sunday. This will be Delaney’s third location with the others being in Reynoldsburg and Westerville. Occupying the “Wert’s Grove” building at the corner of College and Main will be Preston’s: A Burger Joint, Honey’s Fried Chicken and Mmelo Boutique Confectionary, Bakery and Café. Preston’s was recently featured in the Columbus Dispatch where it was named the best burger in Columbus. Preston’s will occupy the west end of the building next to Raver Alley and their hours are yet to be determined. Preston’s “sister” concept Honey’s Fried Chicken will occupy the same space. Mmelo specializes in specialty chocolates and other confections, along with pastries and the Groveport location will also feature a full-service café and patio. Customers will be able to watch the chocolates being made while they enjoy an amazing menu in the sunny café.

New crane sections are onsite. I'm guessing the crane will be jumping today or tomorrow.

...and yet the entire public refers to it as "The Schott". So who cares what the TV calls it?

This picture has me pumped to finally see this stadium filled with fans! The team just announced the Nordecke is sold out, so that north wall of the stadium is going to be rocking!

Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
Nobody calls it Value City Arena. Most people call it "The Schott". Quicken Loans Arena is referred to as "The Q". Mercedes-Benz Stadium is often referred to as "The Benz". It wouldn't surprise me if Lower.com Field comes to be known as "The Low" or some other type of nickname. Heck, a lot of Crew fans referred to Mapfre Stadium as "The 'Fre".

Fans of the team will likely embrace it once they understand this company is paying the team a boat load of money to have their name on the stadium. More money means better players and hopefully more trophies. Who cares what casual sports fans think. If you have a nice stadium in a good area and a winning team, they will still come check out a game.

Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
Who cares? They are local company who are growing quickly and offered more money than the other big local companies in a bidding war. The team should definitely take their offer. On top of that, the company has no real controversies attached to them are ranked as one of the best companies to work for in the Columbus metro area. Seems like a good deal to me.

John Glenn Columbus International Airport
It looks like Crew fans will have a convenient option for traveling down to Austin next season to tell Anthony Precourt how they really feel about him. Starting November 23, Southwest will be flying a CMH-AUS route. I'm not certain what the frequency will be, but hopefully it's more than one of their weird 1x weekly flights. It's been a few years since we had direct access to AUS, so it's great to see it coming back. Also in November, Southwest will begin flying a CMH-MIA. They are currently flying this route, but I believe it's just a 1x weekly seasonal route. I'm guessing starting in November it will be "permanent route" with an increased frequency. https://thepointsguy.com/news/southwest-major-expansion-syr-bli-fall-2021/
