Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
cbussoccer replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThey are a total lost cause. Until I saw the news about Harmony Tower, I hadn't even bothered checking that site for 3-4 months. When I went to it to see if they had any additional info on the tower, it was obvious I hadn't missed anything at all.

Columbus: OSU Medical Center Expansion
cbussoccer replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionFor a hospital, the James is a very good looking building. So if the next tower is similarly designed, I would be ok with it.

Columbus: Downtown: Hilton Columbus Downtown Tower II
It definitely did, which is kind of surprising. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.970022,-83.0021279,3a,75y,323.22h,107.33t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1snfnvc0gyYfxUYrN9j5HdpQ!2e0!5s20110601T000000!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en

Columbus: Downtown: Hilton Columbus Downtown Tower II
I believe Hilton 1.0 also had a climbing crane, although that was a couple years before WMC. Before that, I think the last one was probably the North Bank Condos. I don’t think the Children’s hospital tower had one and I don’t think the Riverside Hospital addition hasn’t one either.

The crane is now visible on the panorama view of the crew stadium construction cam. The panorama and HD panorama are only updated once daily, but they will provide a nice view of the construction progress once the tower rises above the existing Hilton. https://public.earthcam.net/tJ90CoLmq7TzrY396Yd88LfYWPyQxkt0K3IoDnSqPq4!.tJ90CoLmq7TzrY396Yd88Gb4mDI1mUKaHHz239AX6yw!/downtown_stadium/stadium/panorama_-_ultrahd

Columbus: Downtown: Hilton Columbus Downtown Tower II
I have no idea. I’ve only seen it in the pictures that have been posted here. I would guess about 200 feet though.
-
Columbus: Downtown: Hilton Columbus Downtown Tower II
This crane will grow to 407 feet. The tower will be 361 feet.

Erection!

Columbus: Downtown: Harmony Tower
I would love a new batch of high rises to be built in Columbus, but please don’t turn Columbus into Austin. It’s become such a soulless city.

Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
These are great! Thanks for uploading! It really gives a different sense of the size compared to the view from the construction cam.

I believe that hotel was proposed for the lot next to the Madison building. This is being planned for a different lot.

It's definitely some much needed positivity. The past few months have sucked for a number of reasons.

Of note, the applications for the tower and crane have been approved. Just in case we needed any further confirmation. https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=440822939&row=1 https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=442145384&row=2

Columbus: Downtown: Harmony Tower
Wow this looks amazing! There will almost certainly be push back on the video screen, but oh well. Unlike Millennial Tower, I think we can be very confident that this will get built because everyone behind this is the real deal. In terms of height, I think this will definitely break the 400' mark assuming they don't drop any floors. Assuming this gets built, there will only be about 5 empty lots left along High Street between 70 and 670. Included in that total is the pathetic FedEx print shop at the corner of High and Spring. I can't imagine the lot next to the Madison building remains vacant for much longer. I would imagine the lot next to Elevator Brewery will get built on fairly soon if this gets built. Given the amount of growth in the River South District, I can't imagine the vacant lot at Main and High stays vacant for much longer. That leaves the the skinny surface lot at High and Lynn next to One Columbus Center tower. That one will be difficult to build on, but would be a great spot for a tall skinny tower...

Given the current state of activity along High Street, it would probably be easier to get ROW closure on a weekday than it ever would have been on a quiet Sunday evening before Covid came around. You are probably right though, I'm guessing it will be tomorrow or Sunday.

cbussoccer replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionBased on the HD panorama view from the New Crew Stadium's construction, it looks like one of the elevator cores for Parks Edge III is just about topped out. https://public.earthcam.net/tJ90CoLmq7TzrY396Yd88LfYWPyQxkt0K3IoDnSqPq4!/downtown_stadium/stadium/panorama_-_ultrahd

Columbus: OSU / University Area Developments and News
cbussoccer replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYea, I guess that makes sense if it's not going to be a tower crane. I was also surprised by the height of the building. I had no idea it would be 168 feet tall. That's a pretty solid size.

Columbus: OSU / University Area Developments and News
cbussoccer replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionLooks like applications have been filed for the OSU West Ambulatory Facility and it's construction crane. It appears the building will be 168 feet and the crane will be 270 feet. I'm kinda surprised by the height, but I'll take it.

Columbus: Downtown: Hilton Columbus Downtown Tower II
I imagine it would have to have some decent height based on the relatively small size of the lot. It's actually pretty similar to the footprint of the Hilton 2.0 tower.

Columbus: Downtown: Capitol Square Renaissance (Edwards Cos.)
I figured that was the case. I love the idea so hopefully someone can make it happen.
