John Glenn Columbus International Airport
I can tell you right now there wont be an AMS or CDG flight to CMH anytime soon or even after the airport is built, unless there is a major incentive for them to introduce the route. PIT and IND had CDG via DL but they were paid for with state and city funds, once the funds dried up the flights went away. CVG has CDG and it does not receive funds due to the success of the route and the heavy cargo. LHR does receive funds but only if the flight loads are below a certain percentage. The route is doing well with a 92% load factor and BA is making money in cargo as well out of CVG. It helps we have Procter and Gamble and GE Aviation based in Cincinnati. CMH would have a better chance trying to land an Icelandair flight through SWA partnership, or an Aer Lingus route similar to what CLE was able to snag for starters...

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
The Netherlands needs an owner with deep pockets. The rooms are beyond tired, corridors and supplemental spaces are in bad shape. The public spaces and meeting rooms are at least in decent shape retaining it's historical character.

Covington, KY: Development and News
The shared window sill detail just looks bizarre to me like someone was trying a new design look. Wish Covington would have forced more brick or additional elevated materials, because we all know that white and black section is going to be EIFS or some painted corrugated metal.

Its a Hilton Signia that was signed years ago. Indy's convention business is double if not triple what Cincinnati does on a yearly basis. They can facilitate an additional 40 story property and not over saturate the marketplace.

Now that it will be 100% leased at least the tower portion, it's a financial cash cow and not a money drain. Then again this might make it more attractive to sell for a higher value ...

Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
Birkla originally proposed the Terrace Plaza to a bunch of hotel brands included Hyatt. I know those convos died due to the ceiling height and room size. Glad that his team pivoted and pushed for the old Great American building. These will be nice rooms in the heart of downtown activity.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
It's why IHG continues to struggle amongst the hospitality giants. Everyone of their brands is struggling badly. This is just am example of dumb decision making all the way around. This Holiday Inn when it opened was whew ugly on the inside, glad the building received a better interior package...

The indication being that W&S has the flag currently for the JW brand. Which means Marriott has been paid and they have approved W&S to have first right to the brand for x amount of years. And yes there are many Marriott brands downtown but each one is a different type/style and caters to different clientele and has different service offerings. But you rarely have multiple Autographs in an condensed area such as CBD. One could easily be seen in OTR but not two in CBD.

I can tell you right now with Western Southern owning the Lytle and planning on a JW Marriott, Marriott isnt going to piss them off and allow another autograph flag downtown. Yes you see it from time to time, but that typically owners with less pull and muscle to prove themselves...
