  1. Actually they started installing scaffolding around the building today, to protect pedestrians using sidewalk. Makes me think the exterior work should begin soon. I was excited to see them installing it at lunch time today.
  2. Looking and receiving though are two different things...
  3. I think condensing will be more in the cards. Up the budget will be more difficult, everything in the budget is private donations. I highly doubt, any municipality will be willing to open the coffers and donate. To many anti-this and anti-that would put a stop to any government dollars for an event such as blink.
  4. Having worked both behind the scenes and volunteering up front two years ago and this year. I definitely heard alot more complaining from people this year. Its a shame that people have to be so down right rude and hostile. I had on three separate occasions Friday of people demanding myself/Artswave reimburse them for the parking fee, since the light projections were off because of weather. My response was, " Sorry, but this is a free event, and its heavily relied upon by the weather. Your best bet is to use it as a tax right off, since we are a non-profit" I also heard people constantly saying, "this is it?" "My kid can do this on their screensaver" "I was not expecting to have to walk to every installation" " I am not riding that silly choo choo". Beyond that the event grew in size, definitely some bumps and bruises, with any growing pains. I think there will be alot of lessons learned, and improvements for the next event in two years. Still enjoy seeing the multitude of people walking around downtown, and seeing all the kids light up at each display. Hands down best projection this year was Cincinnatus Temple.
  5. If they were to do this again in two years with Covington being involved. The little ferry boat that is used before and after reds and bengals games should be considered to assist people getting across the bridge, or just let people walk down the vehicular portion.
  6. I dont understand how people dont see this as a conflict of interest? Clearly he wanted the other promoter more than MEMI. For him to stand in the way of MEMI project has to start raising red flags...
  7. They are just acquiring the area east of Clay Wade Bailey Bridge. Not the whole area along the river. So you will still be riding through dust cloud unfortunately.
  8. They have a large aggregate mine, in Kentucky up river. They excavate, load up barges and bring down to a couple of there plants. One being the downtown location, where the aggregate is pulled off the barges and then used for a number of different uses. The Steele family has been moved around multiple times along the river over the decades.
  9. 8th and English, bit the dust in O'bryonville. That space is just a dead zone. Nothing can stay open in the space. I think part of it has to do with Grandin Properties as landlord. They seem to have high rates on that space and the space next door that has been a million different concepts as well.
  10. Ultimate doesn't follow under charter service anymore.
  11. Nah I think the heavy Allegiant service out of LCK is higher than LUK. Dornier 328 and Embraer 135 definitely don't have as many seats as Allegiant 319 and 320s
  12. Yep Lunken offers commerical service to Cleveland, Chicago, Charlotte and Atlanta. Talks of adding Nashville are next. Passenger service is projected over 60k for 2019.
  13. Keep on battling Bearcats, only bright spot in the sh*tty Cincinnati athletic scene
  14. Yeah if that plan becomes part of the design then the tower would basically start at about the 6th floor of the 84.51 building.
  15. Id say its safe to say between 375 and 450. I think it be a shot in the dark for 450 though. Indianapolis Hilton Signia is proposed at 38 stories for 800 rooms. Atlanta Hilton Signia is 30 stories for 1,000 rooms. It just depends on what the footprint of the building will become.
  16. They did look in OTR for awhile, but couldnt find the sq. ft. numbers they were after. They are opening in the Commons next to REI.
  17. Dude your hilarious, they can ticket all the scooter people riding on the sidewalks, but they dont. They could ticket all the idiots who constantly block the streetcar tracks, but they dont. The police department is stretched thin and litter is the least of their worries.
  18. They have all tax credits that can possibly be achieved. Developers are dragging there feet at the moment. Some unexpected issues in permitting as well.
  19. No but I am that person and I am looking at the Gucci at Kenwood Towne Center design set right now...
  20. Its crazy to think the old business elite lounge in Concourse B is now a crew lounge. I remember my dad preferring to go in there over the crown room back in the day. The pilots and FA like the swanky crew lounge that use to be the business elite lounge. I think the refresh for the Skyclub is new carpet, furniture, paint, lighting and artwork. Nothing like Austin. Delta is going to make Austin a hub some day. So they are investing heavily.
  21. I dont know exact timing, but its on the list with other hub and focus city skyclubs to get refreshed with a continued roll out of upgrades.
  22. Yeah was the Delta Livery scheme at the time when Concourse B was built with the tunnel.
  23. The Skyclub is slated for a refresh, but i don't foresee any additional work beyond what the airport is doing with upgrading restrooms (which the remodeled one is nice) and vendor upgrades in Concourse B. The Herman Miller seating is in great condition, only thing I would do is change out carpeting and paint where necessary. Honestly B doesn't look that bad and I fly in and out weekly.
