Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Loews is struggling financially, although they should have been in the mix. These developers want seed money and Loews isnt in the position to do that currently.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Ok so with lack of news about the hotel brand I have been keeping a tally on brands/flags that are available and could still come to Cincinnati. Marriott: - JW is out since Western Southern has the flag - Sheraton is still a possibility but its an old forgotten brand, cant imagine any developer using the brand. - Gaylord is a convention brand, there is some potential but I doubt it. - W is not a convention brand hotel - Ritz is too high end for the market and Convention Center Hilton - The brand does not have any active negotiations on the convention hotel, so (Signia, Waldorf, LXR, Conrad or relocated Hilton) are out of the equation IHG - Intercontinental is still a possibility rare but still an option and would allow IHG to get some foothold in the region Hyatt - Not in the running with current Hyatt Regency Omni - If i were a betting man i would say the new property will be an Omni, bringing the brand back to Cincinnati, and replicating similar property to what was developed in Louisville. Plus Cincinnati has been on their target market for awhile now, and is posted on their site. Choice & Accor - Neither hospitality group would be in the running based on brands and strength in the marketplace.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Gwynne Building
Well I can confirm its not going to be any Hilton branded properties, only active project downtown is the Race Street Home2 and the Tapestry on Central Parkway.

Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
Had a couple of interns that lived in the Deacon while Co-ops I couldn't believe the photos and stories of the s**t construction and living conditions in the Deacon. Not surprised that UC found a way to back out...

Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
If Barrett said it then Eagle Development must be working on preliminary plans and working on achieving the flag for JW Marriott. This now eliminates another potential convention center hotel brand. So looks more and more like Omni for the convention center.

Northern Kentucky: Random Development and News
I can not wait for Publix to enter the market. I want a grocery store not a marketplace or wally world. I want to get milk, produce, meat and leave. I don't need Carhartt clothes, toys, jewelry and lawn furniture. Publix might be higher in price but I will pay for quality and better customer service. Plus, Publix employees actually give a s**t what they do, when was the last time a Kroger employee even looked remotely happy in a store?

Newport, KY: Ovation
Bill has to self finance the project going forward. Which is why only two of the three condo buildings got built. Had to wait til the Units were sold. The ovation will be long and drawn out.

Sycamore Township: Kenwood Towne Centre
I have seen the drawings and renderings from the LVMH team for the store. Not sure what the timeline is for the current store to open.

Springdale: City Center Springdale
Now it comes full circle why BHDP ran away from this project and developer a couple years ago...

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Does anyone else think that the convention center redesign is eerily similar to UC indoor athletic facility and CVG rental car expansion? Maybe its just me but they all look similar with their exterior designs.

Cincinnati/NKY International Airport
This honestly makes me nervous for the airport's future. She leaves massive shoes to be filled. Prior to her arrival CVG struggled to find solid forward thinking leadership to dig the airport out of the hub hole. I hope she is a part of the search committee to find someone similar to herself to keep things moving in positive direction.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Carew Tower
The equivalent to Autograph is called Curio properties by Hilton and the Cincinnatian already has the flag. This could easily become a tapestry by Hilton, LXR or Conrad with enough cash infusion. I don't think the new convention hotel will be a Hilton brand anyway Portman isn't big on Hilton brands... So if anything Hilton will just make sure the new owner is committed to the brand instead of taking the flag back.

Cincinnati: Xavier University: Development and News
It's a good thought but the Schott Foundation doesn't have nearly that much left in the coffers to be donating to Xavier University.

Mason: Lindner Family Tennis Center / Cincinnati Open
It's ugly but supposed to give the illusion more people are in the stands especially when televised. It's not very successful though, was glad to see FCC let the fans vote for a design that wasn't the "sprinkles" color effect...

Face palm, "Home to Suites hotel" whomever wrote up the minutes needs to clarify in the future. Its "Home2 Suites" by Hilton.

Cincinnati/NKY International Airport
CVG DL station manager confirmed the other day that the FA base is back. It was a shortsighted move because DL was planning to strip more routes and cities from CVG. They stopped due to demand and struggles in other cities. The issue currently is having to fly in a lot of extra FAs at the moment to handle the early morning flights and the CDG route.

This is more of a contract negotiation issue with AA and mainline pilots. Mainline pilots want more service into AUS and AA is using its regional airlines for the majority of these flights/routes. It is a violation of the ongoing contract. AA has to get rid of all these regional flights now. I will say DL brought the route back and its doing well, and the AA route was doing well too but its being cut because of pilot negotiations more than Austin not being a hot travel spot or the airport is too small.
