  1. I highly doubt it because PNC pays a pretty penny for the naming rights on the building. If your a landlord and your getting money just for a corporate name illuminated up top why get rid of it?
  2. Looking forward to your Berlin photos. Will be heading there this fall for the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus. Prague was a great city when I visited two years ago. Great architecture, food and cheap delicious beer .
  3. Nah not dumb at all, alot of people always assumed that with the park. Charles Sawyer, was the Secretary of Commerce under the Truman Administration, when he passed in 79 his kids leased the land to Cincinnati for the Bicentennial Park construction in the 80s. The Sawyer family owns alot of land around the tri-state still.
  4. Surprised they didn't stick a couple slot machines on the ferry.
  5. That place shot themselves in the foot. Terrible management and unfortunately a poorly trained staff chased many patrons away. I have gone down there with colleagues and ended up going over hour and half before food arrived for lunch. You cant be successful in downtown if lunch isnt done within an hour. They were constantly messing up orders, or just out of food. It was a doomed venture early on. Plus that intersection at the moment is a dead zone...
  6. Without going into alot of details it has to do with vertical circulation. The building being historical doesnt have a large cab elevator for a stretcher. Also there is only one interior stairwell in the tower and then a major exterior stairwell up the east side of the tower. Egress is a sticking point at the moment...
  7. You are correct, however no progress at the Tri-State/Traction building in awhile. Tons of work at the Jewelry Exchange building. Ingalls building is still under going demo. 4th and Walnut is tied up in city permitting issues... Not sure what is happening with the other 7th and Race building where Towne Place was proposed.
  8. It won't happen. Chase corporate offices are in Kenwood. This is just a commerical bank branch, upgrade from the fourth Street location.
  9. Kroger legal team are the idiots in all of this. Remember 84.51 as originally intended for Dunnhumby. It wasnt until shovels hit the ground that Kroger bought Dunnhumby North American operations out, well until they regrouped again. Anyway Kroger being the new tenant could have easily reworked the agreement with the parking deck levels, and left the existing agreement in place. The money spent on those three parking decks to make them easily interchangeable for office use was a budget buster.
  10. Nope they are talking with 3CDC but they don't want to give up any parking decks in the building. Making too much revenue...
  11. A portion of Longworth hall would be removed for the new bridge. There is an addition to Longworth, where the nightclub is located that is technically not historical.
  12. Alot of this will come down to the brand flag selected for the project. I dont forsee any additional Marriott brands in the city. The two largest operators in the city did not respond to the RFP and they have a tight relationship with Marriott to put there foot down on competition in there backyard. We recently talked with Hyatt and they feel they have enough brand presence in the market. It will be Omni, Loews, Intercontinental or possibly a Hilton Signia (brand designed for convention centers).
  13. You are correct, my grandparents use to have a small percentage ownership in the team back in the 80's and early 90's. They both loved Marge, but they were the minority in the ownership group. I remember both of my grandparents saying everything they did to her was completely wrong and unethical. Remember the blue bloods controlled the media and still do. They made a massive situation out of Marge's choice of words. In the end they created a massive amount of drama that forced her out. What she said was wrong and i dont condone it but anyone else would have just gotten a slap on the wrist.
  14. Everyone calm down, Rookwood Commons and Pavilion will be connected. Its in the financial phase right now. The commons development will also be getting new development on the existing surface parking lots. Everything takes time. People also need to remember that both shopping centers when complete were a major gamble. No one would have developed something like that in the City of Cincinnati let alone outside Kenwood or Tri-County area (when it was hopping). There are successes and failures with anything. They brought in a lot of retailers and restaurants new to the market. They created a more convenient area to shop instead of the malls around the beltway.
  15. The leasing plan shows retail spaces along vine and race street. Leaving the center of the building alone. Allowing them to construct a tower if necessary.
  16. His Twitter Feed is like a series of TMI tweet after another...
  17. We first have to get a democrat elected president. I just hear everyone bitching they dont like Biden or they dont like Bernie or they dont like so and so. I just look at them and says its whoever is chosen or Trump for four more years, so shut up and show up to the polls next November. I think the internal squabble will hurt democrats again but not to get off topic.
  18. This always looks so cool from my place in Mount Adams, looks like a little lit up jewel box at night.
  19. This topic has really gotten off track in the past couple days... Just saying.
  20. Yes taking a page from Cranley playbook on how to run for mayor... Play old against young, east against west, suburb against urban, etc...
  21. Yep they didn't pay to play, so move along say Napoleon...
  22. You are correct was the Ted Gregory Event Center. They tore it down for a development of two midrise buildings (condos) then the economy crashed and project was cancelled. I dont have any knowledge of this new project, but wouldnt surprise me if they just built a parking garage... something we really need smh.
  23. Kroger isnt going to bring a marketplace downtown. I have worked with the Cincinnati Dayton Division for a number of years, we are lucky they are building a new grocery store downtown at all. They know in urban markets the ROI is even lower due to theft. So the grocery store in there eyes is still a major gamble. You wont see them bring a store with soft goods down here at all. The bookstore would almost be wise to just move to Carew tower complex and continue to fill the arcade up again.
  24. IT is being moved to Atrium 2. But Kroger also has a huge procurement team and development teams spread out across the city. Plus 84.51 is maxxed out now and 3CDC is being weird about letting the building grow down into the parking garage the way the design was intended. 3CDC is making too much off the garage portion to give it up. The Macys base building makes since for more office space, just hope that they can build on top of the building instead of kicking the can down the road.
