Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
I think he is referring to the NW corner of 5th and Elm, not Race being the post modern entrance to the convention center, and then talking about the "CINCINNATI" spelled out along the western facade of the convention center.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
I wish cellphone technology was further along back in 05 and 06. I use to sit in on all the meetings in regards to the renovated fountain square. Full on fights, screaming matches, throwing packets of paper happened many times in regards to the layout and placement of the fountain. This was the birth of 3CDC basically and they were just starting to spread there wings. I think there are good and bad things about the design. I am sure the fountain will relocate again someday.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
The temporary stage location will disappear for a permanent stage as mentioned by Travis. However I have not heard if they will demo the granite platform the temporary stage sits on during the warmer months of the year, or if it will just remain.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
The new stage, will be mirrored opposite of where it is located now on the square. So the back of the stage will butt up to the Fifth Third Tower. Which is what the original proposal was back in 2007 when they redid the square and 5/3 wanted the stage on the opposite end. I was interning on that project and remember the fighting over the stage placement. I am sad to see the glass rainscreen going away along the south side of the annex building. I cant remember the amount of countless hours working on details for that glass screen with the LED lights....

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
The Signia Hilton Indianapolis is getting a ton of push back now amongst the other major hotels in the city. Lawsuits are being discussed to stop the project before it even breaks ground. Which could be interesting, piss off that developer in Indianapolis, and lure them to Cincinnati instead.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
You will definitely see more modern break out spaces and probably another large ballroom. But an actual extension of the convention center isnt practical enough since convention centers want floor plates to be open and square. If it went across the street it would be an odd "dog leg space". Plus our main convention floor is still at street level unlike Louisville that's at Second floor.

More rooms means more dough that would need to be ponied up by the City, 3CDC, etc. in order to build more.

The RFP has been released quietly to a number of larger hospitality groups. There is a huge amount of interest. Cant go into to many details, but we will probably see something of similar height to the Hyatt or Hilton if it stays around 800 guestrooms.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
The biggest issues for the Millennium property are the room sizes and bathroom sizes in the property. The South tower which was the original hotel building, has low ceiling heights, makes it difficult for retrofit on MEP. Many of the rooms and bathrooms on the South tower are on the small side so higher end amenities, actual closets, and furniture pieces become hard to work into the rooms. The North tower being newer of the two has larger bedroom areas, and closets, but the bathrooms are really small and would be a major retrofit headache. Both buildings need new glazing, and the PTAC units should be replaced with more modern CTAC units to help reduce sound and make more efficient use of either cool or heat in the rooms. The public spaces are large and can easily be redone and reworked into a new look. Its just the guest room towers might be more hassle to retrofit then partial tear down or full tear down. However no one has discussed demo of the Millennium. The only thing mayor Napoleon wants to have ready to go is removal of the skywalk to the convention center. The Port, CVB, and 3CDC are all discussing new hotel at Fifth and Elm, and thats the major focus just ignoring the Millennium.

Cincinnati Art Museum: Exhibits, News, & Info
Part of the 20 million will be going toward upgrading the entry condition at the museum along with other upgrades around the campus.

Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
Speaking of which I am extremely disappointed with the new business school design. I walk by it weekly and just think wow looks like a prison in the middle of the campus...

Cincinnati: Downtown: Autograph Collection Hotel (Anna Louise Inn)
The Cincinnatian was half-assed the whole way through. But the new owners, SREE are pretty damn cheap. Surprised Hilton gave them a Curio flag. Alot of items were value engineered out of the design. The exterior looks bad without awnings or covering over the entry. The glass ones were very 80s but they served a purpose. They just patched the walls and painted to the second floor windows.

Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
Most curious about the Clifton Court Hall. Who will be working on this project? what it will look like since it will have a prominent site on campus? Shame UC couldnt provide even a rendering of the building.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Autograph Collection Hotel (Anna Louise Inn)
You might say endless, but the owners are spending the money and going to make a top notch property for the city. I think the GC was being careless and trying to make deadlines and chose to take a risk on not going for addendum with the permitting, and he got burned.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Hope its someone other than Chanaka running Teak in OTR. He ran his location in Mount Adams into the ground. Ended up with food poisoning last time I ate in there and never went back.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
The city needed to find matching funds, and it was all pushed to back burner when the fights broke out over the park board and Napoleon last year.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I wish I could say it would be something different, but since its the same architecture firm and same studio within the firm working on this project as the Shakespeare Theater, id say be ready for another shitty looking exterior facade. GBBN discovered what they think looks cool and modern and will most likely try to use it over and over again... #onetrickpony

Northern Kentucky: Random Development and News
When the next phase of construction happens with they start building between runways 18C and 18R that exit will impact Amazon greatly. I hate the idea, but they will run another road from the interstate exit to the north end of the airport property connecting to Phase II of Amazon build out.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Yeah the original idea was to go west but the interstate realignment is probably decades off. It's not great idea going across Sixth street but brings the convention center layout design similar to Louisville who moved the main convention floor to second floor and expanded it over a couple streets and city blocks

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Yes that's on fifth Street between Plum and Elm.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Omni is being the most aggressive of major hotel chains building convention center hotels (Louisville, OKC) I doubt Marriott and Hilton covering the city would add an additional property. Loews and Intercontinental would be the other two brands with interest in large room convention properties
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
It's expansion space for the convention center to keep a continuous rectangular convention floor. Hotel goes on the block south of convention center, on fifth between Plum and Elm
